Absurd Parking "charge" - Lidl
Got a parking ticket in the Lidl car park…. while I was in the store shopping. I was less than an hour. Literally using their shop (have the reciept to prove i bought stuff in Lidl).
Would you just ignore, complain to Lidl, or engage "parking eye"?

Complain to Lidl but otherwise don't engage - Scotland, so no Keeper liability applies.

Yeah, I was leaning that way. Absolutely ridiculous, they must be ticketing all their own customers? I don't think 56 mins is a ridiculously long time to do a big shop. I was never going to pay it, but just can't be bothered with loads of ongoing letters. Not sure how far I will get with Lidl as I will likely be talking to a minimum wage shop asisstant.

What's the basis of the charge? Were you supposed to pay or log in your registration somewhere not obvious?
Doesn't change anything but just curious. I agree an hour isn't an impossibly long time to do a major shop, particularly if you were inspecting all the curiosities in the middle aisle.

Does the PCN say why they're asking you for money? I can't see anything on the page you've shared about overstaying, or failing to pay, or whatnot.

There are screens after checkout to validate your parking - you need to scan a receipt and enter your registration. They're easily missed!

Stick it in a drawer and forget about. You can file any future letters with that one too.

You were in the carpark for nearly 2/3 of the maximum allowed time, and you did not follow the instructions that would appear to be very clearly signed - a quick look at Streetview suggests upwards of a dozen signs for a small carpark.

If Scotland has no way to hold a driver legally responsible for failing to follow the car park operator's requirements, that seems a fail on their part.
