Such a hot day 🥴

2 days until pay day and still £100+ left in our account

I broke our run of no unplanned spends by buying three handheld fans for £60, the kind that mist cold water at you. Bought the 3 youngest kids to take the edge off of the heat at night.

Both schools are doing half days the next 3 days, kids are very happy about that. I’m driving them to and from too as it’s nearly 2 miles to the secondary school and I’ll drive past primary school as well.

Had a chat with my manager today and she said that once my full pay runs out and the bulk of the chemo is complete, they’re happy to mark me up as ‘phased return’. They’ll let me work whatever hours I feel up to doing around treatment for the remainder of it.

About 50% of my role is admin, 50% clinical and they know I can’t do clinical stuff while having chemo. She said they’ll find me a quiet office to work in or they’ll sort me a laptop I can use from home (can’t use my own because of patient data). Sounds a bit of a no brainer to me, so I’ve agreed ☺️

So I won’t have to manage on half pay after all… I’ll still keep up with the budgeting and diary here though as it’s been really beneficial these last weeks

That's really good news, great result and hopefully manageable.

My boys were very jealous hearing about potential school closures, won't happen in our neck of the woods though.

The fans sound like a good investment with the heat.

I think my DS was hoping his school would close. He said that it was unbearable. (Teacher).

It’s been reaching 35/36 here, I’ve very much been staying in front of the fan unless I’ve been out ferrying kids around 🥵

I’m so jealously, it’s already 27 here and it’s only 7.30am, due to get to 35 later 😂. I can’t even hibernate with my favourite fan as I’ve got chemo today in a ward with no air con. Fun 🥵

Pay day later today (it’s actually tomorrow but Monzo let you get it at 4pm the day before). We’re at £60, so scraped through!
