Another day, another set of appointments. One of them is an ultrasound to see how lump is doing, so hopefully it’ll show further shrinkage! Then we’re off for our few days away this afternoon ☺️

I use some to post things to people even if it’s just a quick note or a bag of sweets. It’s always nice to get post that isn’t a flyer or a bill

It's me that coined the term pixie dust but it's really just a variation on random acts of kindness but they aren't very random 🤦‍♀️

I try to be tuned in to my family, friends, neighbours etc and if I hear that there is a little thing I can do to make them smile then I do it. I've listed how I spent July's £100 over on my diary. It's a zero based fund so I can spend it without feeling that I need to save some for next month. I think at heart I'm still a spender not a saver but I also love giving joy so this works well for me.

Perhaps you could take a basket of fruit to your next chemo appointment as a treat for the staff? Or some fancy soft drinks for the hot weather? I used to do this when I accompanied a relative to chemo appointments and it seemed a nice, practical thing to do. I thought of it when I was waiting in the chemo room for my relative to come back from some or other diagnostic check. It was late and I was tired and emotionally drained and one of the nurses made me a cup of tea and gave me a biscuit from the staff biscuit tin. She didn't ask, she just knew. Many years later that kindness still means such a lot to me. And I know the patient is the most important person in that chemo room but she gave me some resilience to be the best support I could be that day.

The scan was great, there’s no visible tumour anymore which is amazing news. I still have to have the rest of the chemo before surgery but it’s as positive a result as possible at this stage 🤩

We arrived at our holiday place late afternoon and got settled in before a nice long beach walk and takeaway. Feeling very chilled.

I love the idea 😍, I saw your summary of where the fund went this month and it was such a nice mix of recipients and ideas. Very personal to each person.

Good idea re chemo ward, I have my last infusion in a few weeks so will take something in that day. I’ve not come in contact with a chemo nurse that has been anything short of lovely. So kind and patient.
I couldn’t do their job… although I have a patient facing clinical role and am good at it I’d struggle to be nice all day like they are, especially when patients are rude 🫠
