CIVIL NATIONAL BUSINESS LETTER
Hi all,
So sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place. I struggle to navigate around the website.
I have received the attached letter from Civil National Business Centre.
Smart Parking Limited are the company in question. Basically 5 years ago, I parked in a retail park (paid and displayed) I was literally 5 minutes back to the car but they refused to accept this. They then sent subsequent letters that were fully ignored until they disappeared for years. They then returned with a letter last month saying we owe them money. Since then they have followed this up with a letter from CNBC
My question is what do we do in this matter? Ignore it? My dad is not bothered about his credit history being spoilt. They are asking for £235.68, plus court fee £35 and legal representatives costs of £50. Total £320.68
Appreciate any advice.
Thank you

Remove your images - NOW - as anyone could put in a rubbish defence on MCOL as you've left the password/claim no and your VRM visible.
You don't need advice.
Here's the blurb for all Smart Parking cases right now:
Defending these is dead easy!Just click on the username@MeltofCopy their version of a Smart Parking final defence posted on April 12th.No changes. No added facts.Don't copy & paste it here as we really don't want to keep being asked to check this defence in thread after thread in May, which is driving us regulars a bit mad with this current Smart Parking batch!Literally read any Smart thread…Then follow the 8 steps in the Template Defence thread. Easy peasy. It'll be discontinued just before the hearing fee falls due in the Autumn/Winter.You won't pay a penny.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks Coupon, those images have been removed.
Can I not simply ignore the CNBC letters and do nothing? Especially if dad is not bothered about credit history and the amount is below £600?

Yes he can. But what's not to like in bunging in a copy & paste defence as long as Dad's phone number isn't in MCOL profile (instead put yours).

I am very ignorant, need explaining to like I am 5 please. What is it that I need to do step by step?
Which link and template? And who/where do I send it?

But it's already written as a very easy 8 steps in the Template Defence thread.
We won't re-write those steps again.

I clicked on the username Meltof but cannot find the final defence on 12th April 😭How odd. As with any forum, everyone's posts are listed in date order once you are on their posting profile.
It's a cinch to find and we won't link it.
(Please don't copy & paste it here. We don't need to check it).
I also don't understand your difficulty where you said "I cannot find the template defence thread nor the 8 steps. Do you have the link please?" … and you posted that directly underneath my signature, which tells everyone where the links to page one are.
Again, we won't link it. The whole point is to make you confident in hopping around.
