Anyone else still pay by cash?

Ringo comes up with the nearest places when you use the app to pay for parking. One thing I don't like about it is that you have to pay for a set time and then extend it if necessary, it would be better if you could just hit done when you are finished and get charged the appropriate amount. There was another app I used in Devon once that did that, but I can't remember which one it was now.

They earn extra money by people paying for parking that they end up not needing and those forgetting to pay for the extra time.

In my area many people wouldn't know what a parking meter was. They drive into a car park....park....walk over to a pay machine that tells them how much......They choose to pay by phone and stand around for a few minutes looking for something, an app, a method of paying, I don't know but I've already paid cash and am half way to the shop.

That will happen once, after which time they will have the app or used contactless if offered to pay immediately
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Oh dear. You don't like it when someone points out that you haven't read a post properly and so are disagreeing with something which no one has said, do you?
And the word you were looking for and trying to use inappropriately in your snarky post is pedantry not pedanty.
Oh the irony …….

Near me the council created a lot of residential parking zones, but few meters.
There are signs informing people of numbers to call or appropriate app to use.
The meters take cash.
I've yet to use an app or pay by phone. Keep a small amount of cash for parking in the car.
Although that "small" amount has become larger over time.
