But the problem may be with your ISP, send them an Email and ask if there is any reason for this.[/quote]
Did that yesterday and still waiting for response.
I actually tried (tut, tut) turning off firewall completely.
Still nothing.:("Unhappiness is not knowing what we want, and killing ourselves to get it."Post Count: 4,111 Thanked 3,111 Times in 1,111 Posts (Actual figures as they once were))Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.0 -
Have you tried a diailup account?
That will route through another system, make a PAYG Orange account and try that.
BUT DO NOT INSTALL ANY SOFTWARE JUST GET THE INFO AND SET IT UP MANUALY.
If you want help setting it up let me know just go through the setup and once you get to the download part DO NOT INSTALL but download the .ins file to a known place on your computer.
Open it with notepad and inside will be all the info you need to set the account up manualy and lots you don't need
Then if it is then OK you will know it's the ISP and not your computer.
Its all about rulling things out, in the end you narrow it down and find the problem and fix it.
We have already ruled out HotDeals as the problem so now it's your computer or ISP.
Always handy having a dialup account anyway, but to keep them active you have to dial in every now and then. I still use a freeserve account as my main Email, must have had it 10 years now.
Not quite 10 years, 9 years http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freeserve.

Hiyah Brit Brat.
Phew, It's working.
Followed your advice (Sort of)
Went to start/settings/cont/network settings and clicked on Internet Connection (Believing this to be the dial-up) and IE launched immediately, loaded all six tabs inc HDUK and they ALL loaded.
Very strange indeed but hey, who cares.:)
Seriously though, the other connection, whatever it was was a lot slower and had that weird problem. I'm flumoxed but since I am up & running, tghink I'll try to ignore the problem unless it returns.
Thanks again for yr time and effort. You are what MSE members USED to be made of.

It's because of the big long link pasted in one of the posts above... makes the forums wider.
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=669925
I don't know, because the above forum is also wide and has no links.
All other pages seem OK.Move along, nothing to see.0 -

Hi Emma,
Judging by DAMNONES reply it must have been a 'glitch-in-the-works'.
Not something I caused or cured.
VERY strange.
Thanks for your time nonetheless, Emma. See you there.:)"Unhappiness is not knowing what we want, and killing ourselves to get it."Post Count: 4,111 Thanked 3,111 Times in 1,111 Posts (Actual figures as they once were))Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.0 -
