Could you post a link to the list of retailers/services that give 5%/2%/0.5%? I've had a look at their site and the Terms and can't find it.

Sum-Up Cashback is documented here:
https://www.sumup.com/en-gb/personal/support/?prc=GBMDP2026-s-GBMDP2026-s-GBMDP2026-s-GBMDP2026-s-GBMDP2026-s-GBMDP2026- "5% cashback at SumUp businesses
- 2% cashback at supermarkets
- 0.5% cashback everywhere else
Cashback is capped at £10 per calendar month. Gambling transactions, crypto purchases, and topping up a wallet with another provider are excluded."
"2% cashback only applies to grocery purchases at supermarkets. Non-grocery purchases (including those made with supermarket brands) [fuel, SIM top-up, car wash] earn 0.5% cashback, not 2%."
I believe a "Sum up business" is one that uses them for their card payments/machine.

In the app, it mentions groceries at the following qualify for 2%
Tesco
Lidl
Sainsbury's
Aldi
Asda
Co-op
M&S
Waitrose
Iceland
Morrisons
I'm unsure which qualify for 5% (it might be those that use SumUp to process payments) but its 0.5% on spend which doesn't fall into the other 2 categories (Cashback is not earned on gambling transactions, cryptocurrency purchases, or topping up wallets with other providers.)

Yeah, I think I will end up paying my Octopus £50 bill £2, £2, £2... 😂
Also the 2% cashback can be stretched to other places like Amazon - just because you can buy giftcards at the supermarket 😅

Far too many hoops and complicated now, not worth it

I use Chase as my main bank account so this will benefit me - I'll be getting more cashback on Waitrose shopping than my John Lewis Partnership card, and also on larger sums I would prefer to put through my credit card rather than current account. Putting 15 payments a month through will be easy.
According to the tracker on the app I have 3 payments so far this month, all pints purchased at Wetherspoons last night. However it hasn't registered a DD to my Clarity account so it looks like it either doesn't accept payments to credit cards or they are slower to register for some reason

My 2 DDs that left my savings account yesterday haven’t registered either. I wasn’t sure whether it was because they are from the savings account and not the current account? (Though I can’t find anything in the t&cs for DDs.) I’m really hoping they will register as my weekly DD for my milk delivery makes quite a dent in the 15 transactions needed!

The Chase debit card cashback seems to have become too much like hard work (15 transactions), at too high a cost (£1000 in a mediocre savings account).
I'll be taking the 1% cashback in June, then the account will go dormant
At some point I might get a Chase credit card - the 15 months 0% may make it worth while. I'll take 0% cashbank on some, sorry most, items in exchange for the interest free.

I got a chase credit card because I wanted a new travel credit card that didn't insist on sending me a text if I make an online purchase (which Clarity does). It is very integrated into your Chase app. At the moment I am paying into a savings account and gaining interest, and will use it to settle the credit card when the interest free period comes to an end.
The only issue is the settlement date is the 27th of the month and I can't change it (although they said that would come). While it's interest free though, that isn't a problem.
Some people keep a few £1,000s in their current account. I don't, I just use it for this month's money but have a relatively small amount in a couple of savings accounts for unexpected bills etc. So this suits me. Also 15 transactions is easy peasy if you are actually using it as a current account as you just need to make small contactless payments, such as my three pints last night.

I've just had an app notification from Chase to say the £1,000 needs to be in one of my Chase savers by 4th June. I won't be taking advantage of the 2% offer; the new criteria is too time-consuming.
