Halifax to vanish?

It is interesting if you think about it, they have already done everything they need to do to enable a transition from Halifax to Lloyds at the day-to-day banking level.
They could tell everybody Halifax is closing tomorrow and ask customers to use the Lloyds app and branches, and it would not impact the services available. There is no need to reissue cards, logins or anything. They could just issue Lloyds cards when they reach their expiry. Over time the Halifax name would just slowly fade away.

TBH from my personal experiences of both banks - I much prefer Halifax.
It might mean even more bank closures - For Example here in Gloucester the Halifax and Lloyds are only about 80 yards apart - same in Cheltenham

Why? I find it odd that people would read and quote from the many left-wing news sources. We live in a democracy.

But not guaranteed that Lloyds will let you have one.
I have Halifax Clarity CC and a Lloyds Cashback CC, both Mastercard. Asked to convert my Cashback CC into an Ultra (as then provides 0% FX abroad), however, computer said no! Even though I don't carry a balance on either card as PAY IN FULL each month.

FYI, both your Mastercards will be changing to Visa at some point as LBG has changed preferred providers.
My Halifax Clarity changed to Visa 2 months ago (even though the Mastercard was not due to expire). I believe they are slowly working through everybody.

The move of Halifax Clarity CC from Mastercard to Visa has already prompted me to apply for an RBS Mastercard which I’ll use for foreign travel. Payment on Clarity due end of month then I’ll close it and switch unused current account. Already have BoS Vantage & Club Lloyds. Cuts out a bit more admin.

Chalk & cheese.

Interesting reading the comments regards Halifax re-brand. As a resident of Halifax for 70 years, many residents are dismayed by the news. There is a lot of local history regards the formation of the original Halifax Bank. Times change I guess.
For me I will not deal with Halifax or associated companies, after being turned down twice for mortgages in my younger years.

I Wonder how this will impact on yougov connections? Will likely lose 15p a day as a result.

Also loss of a stooze option as youll only be able to max out 1 bank rather than 2
