ebay- buyers 'shopping time' after one purchase.
I've noticed a new thing on ebay (this is on my private account), it appears that buyers can add things to an order if they use Simple delivery.
I thought the first time I saw it it was a glitch, but it's just happened again. Buyer offered on something and I accepted, item was paid (possibly under immediate payment required) and it shows as paid but isn't showing as ready to despatch. Instead it says '
Paid – wait to shipBuyer has 2h 56m left to shop
That implies buyer can still bundle other items and my label will be usable only once their shopping time has ended.
It's a good idea in principle, perhaps they'll buy something else as well - but on the other hand it's going to delay postage as I'm off out now with todays post, so this will now not go until tomorrow at the earliest.

This would be good for combining postage isn't it? That is if multiple items can still go under the same postage.

That's what it looks like to me.

This backfired on me and my buyer yesterday.
We were hoping that I could get the item packaged and dropped off at my local post office as I went into town to meet friends.
However, because of this 'paid…wait to ship' I couldn't print the address label before I went out.
So…parcel dispatched a day later and now will be caught up in the Bank Holiday weekend.

it’s happening to most of my things now bought using Simple delivery. It means I’ll have to remember to turn my holidays settings on earlier than usual in case of a last minute sale and a 3 hour delay.

There’s no way for the buyer to say to the ebay bot that they don’t want anything else?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I’m hoping that someone who actually buys and is caught up with this will eventually report back and let us know if there is a way of letting ebay know they don’t want to add anything. Do they even know it’s happening I wonder?

That sounds incredibly frustrating for sellers who want to ship items quickly. A 3-hour delay can easily push dispatch to the next day. Hopefully, they add a way for sellers to opt out of this "shopping time" feature.

I haven't seen this before - so buyer has purchased and paid for an item.
If I go to my eBay summary page it states 'Dispatch Now', and I have the option to print a label as normal.
However, if I enter my Orders page the item has 'Paid - Wait to Dispatch' beside it, with a countdown timer which started at an hour.
Apparently 'Paid – wait to post' lets you know when buyers still have time to shop and get combined postage. So I assume they can shop for additional items and combine postage within that 1 hour timeframe.
I've never seen that before - new feature?

Yes I had this today on my two orders. The timer just ran down and I generated the label once the time had ran out. I did a quick google at the time and lots of people had had the same and there seems no way to disable this. Hope to be corrected though on that as it's a nuisance.

You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
I printed off the label when there were only 6 mins or so left, and as soon as I print the label the countdown timer disappeared - so maybe its giving buyers the chance to purchase more to combine postage, but that chance ends as soon as the seller prints the label?……
