I can't see how it's going to change anything.

Make sure your mechanic inspects the next one before you hand over any money.

I suspect that makes it less likely you'll get any money. A dealer that engages with the process and contests it is less likely to be one that closes down the business and opens a new one.

i guess we'll find out wont we
ill keep everyone updated, dont forget about this thread! you'll need to know if youre right

Well they are not going to offer a refund given what they have said.
You still having the car does not help you.
Even if you get the default judgement, they will still refuse to pay & then it costs you more to enforce the judgement.
Sometimes you have to pick your fights

I don't need to know anything about it, but I am curious. For a start I don't believe some of what you've told us (the magical mechanic who was contacted and carried out a full inspection and diagnosis, all inside 30 minutes, for a start), and I suspect there's pertinent information you haven't given us as well, all to try and elicit the answers you want to hear. You came here not knowing much about your legal position: "Please let me know if I have a leg to stand on" were your exact words, yet you've spent the days since arguing with those giving their opinions and quoting consumer rights legislation at them.
I'm fairly certain how this is going to play out. The dealer will see that you've started the legal process, offer to take the car back, provide a full refund and give you an all-expenses-paid trip to Disneyland. Or something like that. I'm sure you'll update us.

Exactly
A car with 2 months MOT should be considered to be worth £100 Mixed metals at the local crusher

Fair enough! It sounded unbelievable because at 4:52pm you said you'd got a mechanic coming out, and at 5:15pm you had a full diagnostic report.

You need to check with Puegeot what the actual timing belt interval
A dishonest Citroen main dealer who should have known better fabricated that the Citroen wet belt interval on a C1 was 80K when Citroen themselves later said 112K /10 Years
