I suspect the quickest way to open a HSBC account is via the app not online.

I suspect the quickest way to transfer an ISA to HSBC is electronically rather than via paper.

Unfortunately, HSBC don't seem to publish a list for which providers they support electronic transfers on their website - you only seem to be offered it as part of the ISA application process.

It would be a public service if a HSBC customer who hasn't yet applied for an ISA starts an application, says they want to transfer an ISA and notes which providers are supported electronically - you can abandon the application with no ill effect.

I found this on the HSBC website, though it seems to only apply to the HSBC Loyalty Cash ISA (not part of the current offer), and I couldn't request an online transfer for my provider when applying for the 4.5% account, even though my provider is on the list. Whether transfers from the providers listed below is a different question.

Seems bizarre that HSBC would have different ISA transfer-in processes for their different ISAs, but it seems they do.

Yes, annoyingly both Gatehouse and Shawbroook were missing from the 4.5% application form via the app.

So Gatehouse and Shawbrook are on the list, yet you're unable to request an electronic transfer-in?

Which ISA was this for - Loyalty?

Doesn't exactly instill any confidence in HSBC's processes!

As mentioned above by @friolento both are on the list for the Loyalty ISA, but not on the list for the 4.5% ISA which I wanted.

I had to choose the option for "provider not on the list ".

They then apparently send outside the paperwork for transfer.

Kent Reliance wasn't on. You can download the transfer form.

Yes, I downloaded a form for each transfer and mailed it to them as they are painfully slow at everything else it seems!

Another disgruntled HSBC customer here (im) patiently waiting 2 transfers in to HSBC fixed rate Isa account.

    Account opened 31/3/2026.

Transfer forms completed and posted 1st class post, next day then....... nothing.

    Account open showing £0.

No idea if forms received and in system or anything else.

Thankfully, funds to be transferred are still showing in original accounts but earning a pittance.

To add to my woes, new ISA opened with Santander 7/4/2026, on line.

I'm new to Santander so have to wait for online log in codes to be posted to me (4 - 6) working days apparently. So far, nothing!

It's the lack of communication that's anxiety provoking. I just want it all done and dusted so I can forget about ISA's for another year.

I did call the HSBC ISA team (03457 404 404) and asked whether they have received my transfer form. They were able to confirm they have it. Worth phoning them to put your mind at rest. And making a note of date, time and name of person you spoke to, just in case there's a dispute further down the line.

They will have your transfer form - but that isn't necessarily the problem.

The issue they have is completing the transfer and taking the necessary actions to do so on timely basis! I requested my ISA transfer to HSBC before easter. My current provider has advised me HSBC need to confirm the completion - and only then does the transfer of funds happen. This is supposed to be actioned by the accepting provider within five working days - HSBC haven't met this deadline so the funds still sit with my current provider where I can at least see them.

My current provider has done two transfers from the same ISA account this week and it all got completed from request to funds moved and appearing in my ISA account with my new provider (not HSBC) within 48 hours. So it is not my current provider! No interventions or telephone calls needed post me completing the online transfer request - as it should be.

My worry starts when my funds are finally transferred - do they then appear next working day in my HSBC account as they should do? Unlike Bioboybill's £20k - which two weeks on has not been credited to his HSBC isa and HSBC cannot tell him where his money is.

I am stuck now in the process - but if I had known it would be this slow and this hard work I would never have opened the HSBC ISA account and started the transfer.
