HSBC cashback offer

I think it is HSBC who have the unrealistic expectations if they think that it is both professional and acceptable to "lose " thousands of pounds of customers cash somewhere in the ether for weeks, and not to complete transfers within the 15 working days...indeed not to have even started some! To have to contact the outgoing bank to find out what's going on because HSBC continually fob u off.
It's also unrealistic on their part to splash sizeable cash incentives all over their website knowing they don't have the staff to cope with the inevitable influx of applications. Then to continue that marketing whilst simultaneously having a banner more or less saying they can't cope.
Worst of all to have total non communication about all these issues at any point until the customer doggedly chases them.
After all of the above, it's totally unrealistic on their part to be surprised when customers want to make an official complaint and won't allow their cs staff to put them off.

So much depends on who you get put through to, on the first call I made today the customer service colleague kept saying I need to wait for the transfer to go through......
I said yes ordinarily I would but nobody on EITHER side has any record of it even being attempted second time round so I could be waiting forever.
After reading posts on here I thought no don't wait, just file the complaint, especially with it being the 11th.
Second colleague couldn't have been more helpful.

I'm in the same boat as many others. HSBC fixed ISA opened and 2 paper ISA transfer forms sent over a month ago. Nothing seems to have happened. My 2 other ISA providers have heard nothing.
I did phone HSBC a week or so ago and they confirmed that they had received my ISA transfer forms in the post.
That was my only concern - that they might be lost in the post. Now, I don't care how long they take. I was putting it in a 13 month ISA so obviously I don't need access to the funds for a while.I will be raising a complaint, but not yet, as I don't know how things will proceed from here. Also, the longer they take to sort it out the more compensation I will be looking for. In addition I should get interest from my ceding providers plus interest from HSBC for the period over 15 days. Win win.

To be honest, I have found all of their staff pleasant and wanting to help...unfortunately they have one hand tied behind their back therefore can only offer platitudes.
I believe someone posted either on this thread or another, that they were told HSBC don't have a dedicated ISA team...beggars belief if true.
God help us in 12/13 months time if they have mass maturities trying to get money out...if it's this horrendous trying to give them money!

I have actually spoken to the 'dedicated ISA team' so they do exist. How well staffed they are I cannot say.

Update 2. Logged in this morning and guess what, all money now showing in my ISA account, maybe raising a formal complaint has managed to gee them on a bit, good luck to everyone else in the same boat, just hope that the interest is backdated to the 9th April.

I was just coming on here to say that same @1931modela - but in my case it is just a partial transfer despite us requesting a full transfer. Some of my ISA money is now showing in my new HSBC anccoint. My OH still missing almost £60k disappeared into ether. Am hopeful it will ‘turn up’ soon.
Dreading HSBC transferring the remaining isa funds we both still holding in our old ISAS which for some mysterious reason they haven’t taken as yet despite being asked to transfer the full amount a long time ago….

what date shows for the credit? If it is today, you get interest from today……which would be in breach of their legal obligations?

Out of interest, how long did it take for you to receive your transfer form after you'd opened the account? Mine took about 10 days which is an excessive amount of time and in my view should be included in the mis-managed and prolonged transfer process. It's not my fault that they didn't impliment sufficient tools in their online application to action the transfer at the time the account was opened. Did they have a team of 14 year olds designing this?? Or was it all CGPT driven?!

That's a good point, just checked and it shows the 11th May, so need to follow that up when they contact me about the complaint, thank you for pointing this out
