I was told in Branch that transfers-in are allowed, and count for the offer, within 60 (not just 30) days of account opening. Not sure how true this is.

EDIT: I spoke to the ISA transfer team on the phone this afternoon, and they essentially confirmed this. They even told me I had 70 days for the transfers to arrive, and to count for the offer. As the conversation had been a bit tedious already at that stage, I didn't attempt to clarify why 70 and not 60, and 60 is more than plenty for me, anyway.

You might want to ask them yourself, don't go by what they told me 😀

My existing ISA was not on the list of approved providers. I am still waiting for the transfer request form from HSBC. Is the form posted to me or can I use the pdf form online and post that to HSBC? The reason I ask is because on the pdf online form, there is nowhere to put the new HSBC FRISA account details and was wondering if the transfer request form from HSBC would have these details.

You can wait for the form hoping it will arrive or you can download the relevant form from the HSBC website if you are concerned about the time it's taking to arrive. As long as you have opened the ISA with HSBC and use the Cash ISA transfer form (there is a separate form for a S&S ISA) you should be fine. You can always call them to be sure and then send the form from the website.

    Paper forms seems very archaic.

Yes, they have very generous 70 days transfer in window. I submitted online application on Sunday (not on the app) and the new account is nowhere to be seen.

If it wasn't for the bonus offer, I wouldn't have gone near HSBC with my ISA money as they appear to be so glacially slow. One good thing is that you can ring them but you are then at the mercy of CS operatives who have limited experience and can only operate from scripted sheets. Ask them anything not on their sheets and you are likely to turn in circles.

My paper transfer form took 7 to 10 days to arrive. It was the same as the one you can download. Yes, unusual that the form has nowhere to enter your HSBC account number.

You can just add your HSBC ISA account number somewhere on the form in a spare space. It’s what I did. Keep a copy / photo / scan of the completed form, just in case of queries later on.

    Painfully slow.

Opened my HSBC isa late March and requested the transfer on application. I was advised by my existing provider last Friday -10th - they had received HSBC’s request. As of today the funds have still not been moved as my current provider is apparently waiting for a completion confirmation from HSBC - so they can’t apparently transfer it.

My current provider paid over an ISA transfer request from the same account to Paragon within 48 hours - so it’s not them.

One poster on here had his funds leave his current ISA on 1 April - as of yesterday the money had still not appeared in his new HSBC isa two weeks later. Has complained several times to HSBC with no luck yet. His money has seemingly ‘disappeared’?!

In the end there is no point worrying about the terms and conditions for the Cashback if the ISA transfer doesn’t happen so it is academic.

This is what we all need to focus on - as there are clearly administration issues at HSBC for some customers re ISA transfers!

Like the idea above HSBC allow 70 days for transfers - at this rate they will be needing those 70 days post request for some customers even though legally any transfer should happen within 15 days!!
