This morning was spent mainly arranging flowers.
Went to 2pm church service.
Took my flowers to church to save me hassle tomorrow; several of us are meeting at 10am to clean, tidy and decorate for Easter Sunday service. They know that I will drop in on my way back from swimming, so at least I feel I've made a start. I need to remember to get up early as I need to go to the PO tomorrow on my way.
Signed and wrapped SIL and DB's card and present (they got married on her birthday so I have to remember the anniversary card when I do her card).
Had a reasonable tidy in the kitchen after my flower mess; swept the floor. A few flowers left to do an arrangment for my swim buddy who's swimming with me on Monday, her birthday is Tuesday.
Tr&velodge booked for accommodation before and after friend's funeral. Have decided to book our usual Bournemouth area one for 2 nights; then we can combine it with a visit to Mum and BIL. Funeral is about an hour and a half's drive from there, so not too hard to get there for 1pm.
Did a bit of money shuffling to pay for various things.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
It's tough getting rid of the past but it does free up space for the future.6 -
Morning all xx
I gave myself permission to do nothing except chillax yesterday- the logic being that I would usually be at the paid stuff on a Friday so anything I did do was a bonus. So this morning I'm looking round and saying to myself 'think how much you could have got done yesterday!'. Be gone foul fiend!
As well as the usual: make my bed, feed the birds, and put out the recycling, my 'bonuses' were: decanting bird seed into the container, tearing up and recycling a cardboard box, taking Joey's cage and stand upstairs out of the way, turned the calendars over to April..... and spending the day with Sassy 😍.
The 'episode' at Toxic Towers seems to have blown over, but I have documented everything just in case. And I'll not forget the Service Manager saying 'I thought you'd walk out! You still might' whilst telling me how disappointed she was in me....and would I delete the email she'd sent without reading it (it's been saved and stored with my documentation! Google said the content was unprofessional and indicative of a toxic work environment 🤣🤣) Ten more pay days - but apparently that's me 'threatening ' retirement. 🤔 Nope. Its not a threat, it's a fact. 1st February 2027 I'm out the door. And if she won't let me retire and return to work my two days with the Macmillan Nurses I'll be completely out the door. Deferring retirement is no longer an option.
I digress. Sorry. I'm still not 100% over it. ' I thought you'd walk out!!!!' 🤬
So. Today. I'm up, taken my meds, turned over the calendars (I have two daily perpetual calendars as well as the three monthly calendars- one of which is 2024 but I do like Elvis 😉), completed the nyt puzzles, and supped a brew.
A second brew, breakfast, then the Saturdailies await. And the plan is to visit Pops this afternoon.
Have a lovely weekend

Saturday probably isn't the best day to rejoin Flylady, but I decided posting while I was still ready to 'get a grip' was better than wandering off again.
Rejoin because I was a Flylady many years ago (no, I refuse to work out how long except I am certain there is no-one still here from then) and because I had got into that bad habit of having a rush of blood to the head, trying to clean/sort everything, collapsing into a heap and then going back to doing the bare minimum.
So, next week here I come 🙂

Morning all
@kazmeister I sympathise about the bathroom - OH & DS both leave ours running with condensation after showering. I wouldn't mind but I leave an old towel in there specifically for wiping down walls & surfaces 🙄
@roundtuit Save a back up copy of the documents onto a memory stick, just in case the IT system gets 'hacked'. When I eventually left work (after a horrid post-covid year) I'd managed to accrue a bit of annual leave, so although I gave them 6 weeks notice, I was only there for 2 & 1/2 weeks. Am I evil in saying it was so satisfying seeing them chasing around like headless chickens? 😈

ME! I remember you! Maybe, just maybe, I'm the longest-serving Flylady?
@roundtuit well done on saving the email. I'd be tempted to go to HR with it. Sounds to me like that boat NEEDS rocking!
Washing on the line. Much amused by a meme saying Storm Dave has been renamed Storm Rodney (If you know, you know!)
I've started another book - 3rd one in quick succession - it is YEARS since I read so much and read new stuff - 10 in fact.

I was going to say Morning! but its not 😆
Thank you for the link Valli, that's great, I will share with DH although he is unlikely to complete it anytime soon, it took 10 years+ to get him to make a will.
Eltee - I'm glad its not just our house, I could understand if it was a small bathroom but its not.
Crafty - Nice to have you back. I have only just rejoined and usually manage to get in once a week. Have been on leave this week so able to post more. I have found it is so much harder these days, I guess its as a result of being older. How I used to manage the lists, cope with the kids and do everything in/out of the house I will never know. Anyway don't stress if you cant get it all done, do what you can when you can.
My plans for the day
- Meal plan for the week (try and use some freezer meals)
Need to shop for tomorrow's dinnerFruit & veg shop for breakfast berries (although that can wait if needed as not seeing DGD on Monday)Shop for gift bags (the ones I bought last week are too small for the big kids eggs)Email Wickes re bathroom - this has been on to do list for weeksEmail Office re DD's Uggs - also been on the list for weeks
That pretty much the essentials so anything else will be a bonus.
Mortgage, paid off!6 -
Greetings to everyone from our day out at [drumroll please] …
…the horse piddle!!! Yes, DH is back again in Same Day Emergency Care, wearing a snazzy red wristband so that he gets the full gamut of investigations. Earlier in the week our GP had prescribed a new-to-DH AB, to which he has had an allergic reaction, and the original infection is not clearing up. Such “fun” being here, but the £1 coffee is quite drinkable and we’ve been given tasty fresh sandwiches, so I’m not complaining. It’s a good thing we didn’t have any other plans for this weekend.
I loaded and started the DW before we came out, and I’ve put the coffee cups and sandwich wrappers in the bin.
