update - sent off my email to 🐙 CS today.

After poring over bills over the last year, found 30x instances of high rate charges.

then went through and removed the ‘fill your boots’ free leccy sessions.

And then removed the donut charges that happened because we forgot to remove the previous day’s charge instruction. There were 9x of those 😱

Anyway - in the end we were able to identify 14x high rate charging slots that should have been low rate. Took corresponding screen shots on the OHME app and sent these across to 🐙.

If all are adjusted it should amount to £14 refund. Maybe not worth all the work it took (OHME app painful) but at least we are up to date now and I will be sure to carefully check each bill in future.

Octopus came back to me today and have refunded us just over £16.

The interesting part is what they said about the OHME charger:

Looking at the connection of your Ohme charger on our system, there were a few occasions where we tried to change the charging schedule but were not successful. This may have caused the issues you experienced.

I would recommend removing your Ohme charger from our system and then re-adding it. The integration you currently have is nearly two years old, and Ohme recommends refreshing this connection every year. You should be able to do this in the Octopus app by selecting the device and then clicking "Remove device." If you have any trouble with this, please let me know, and I’ll be happy to assist.

We are going to do this in hopes it helps - didn’t know if it might be of interest to @chrisw

Ohme have some up to date instructions on their site for doing this, so check there for the link to indicate to Octopus that you want to use the charger integration rather than the EV itself or you will find you don't get the charger option …

Yes, this is the same reason they told me. However, as the default is now integrating the car rather than the charger as MWT says, I decided to leave it as it is rather than risk making things worse and just email them as and when necessary.
    Good result.

You can fill out the form whenever you want and then you are set for the future if you need to reintegrate the charger (EVSE) :

Is a new schedule starting because the vehicle isn't being unplugged within three hours of the scheduled end-time?

that is something I will have to check - I’ve not heard about that before. The only thing is that the higher rate charges during what should be lower rate charging sessions have occurred at all different times of the day - morning midday and evenings. But I’ll look into it thanks
