we have checked 🐙 bill breakdown for the last year and found we’ve been charged svt rate for time slots when our EV was charging and have proof of this from the OHME app.

aware it’s a beta programme so not sure whether to pursue it and wondered if anyone on here has the same experience?

It adds up to around £30 over the year.

Have searched key words on here but not having much luck. Sorry if I’m going over well trodden ground here.

For clarity I mean we have been charged SVT for times when we had been given a charging slot for the EV which should have been at the lower IOG tariff rate

Have you got gaps in your half hourly data? or has it been always like that. I admit I don't know much about IGO.

no gaps - everything is correct and accounted for as far as the energy usage is concerned -

usually it is one or two days a month where we are being charged for 1-2 continuous hours of higher rate EV charging. (Not the same day/ no perceivable pattern other than being charged the higher rate)

we do have proof we were given the charging slot so should have been charged the lower rate.

You shouldn't ever be charged the SVT if you're on IOG. It's either the night/smart rate (much less than the SVT), or the day rate (a bit more than the SVT).

I would definitely take it up with Octopus. It sounds like it could be a fault with their Ohme integration.

Are you sure the car was actually charging & that the battery was not at 100% thus meaning that while the car was connected, it was not actually charging?

Check mine on each bill & never had any overcharging. 🤷‍♀️

ye we have checked and the car was definitely charging at those times - the app confirms that as well.

It’s so strange as we had set our usual charging schedule to stop at 5:30am when the lower tariff rate ends.

AFAIK if the EV is plugged in and you are given a slot then IOG in current form says it should be charged at the lower tariff rate

When you say "given a slot", do you mean you are manually triggering charging and/or other energy use?

You also say you have set your charger to not charge after 05:30, but for IOG Octopus control when you charge, you just set the "ready by" time and percentage.

Are you pre-heating the car? If you do that most will draw power from the charger rather than the batteries if it is plugged in/has that option, which can appear to be logged as charging, but would be at normal rate as it is triggered by you, not by Octopus.

we aren’t manually requesting the car to be charged.

We have set it up regularly to charge by a certain amount between 11:30pm -5:30am. But for some reason as you can see from the screen shot we were charged the higher rate tariff between 8:30 & 9am.

we are not pre heating the car
