    Regarding the advice

You could add a sentence stating that the signage was inadequate and has since been replaced

Which paragraph do I add that to please ?

(It actually must have been inadequate (as I did not know about it until 10 th March when staff directed me to the sign with TPS details on it and it was not at eye level but very high up ) would have parked with my back to the sign and not driven towards it as I drove in and immediately to the right at the side of the building and my rear windows were very tinted too )

Should I mention the allowed time has now been changed to 60 minutes rather than 30 as I’m certain they have had to change that because so many people must have been given car parking ticket for overstaying as it’s not always easy to find anyone to help if need it in the store .

finally - is it worth and a concise way to say o was a legitimate shopper at that store and if I had overstayed then it was because I was making the purchase and was unable to get satisfactory help from inside the store from staff ? Hence I had to ask someone via messaging for help in determining which battery I should purchase ?

No just copy a generic para 3 and only add ONE LINE to it that the Defendant was the driver but the signage was not seen, so it cannot have been adequate.

Details like that and evidence are saved for the witness statement, which comes at a later date (assuming they don't discontinue, which they probably will). The defence is more of a general thing.

Truthful means no lying. It doesn't mean you shouldn't omit details that are prejudicial to your own case.

Presumably this Halfords is like a lot of them, with technicians working on cars in the car park. They must overstay all the time.

    2. The allegation(s) are vague and liability is denied for the sum claimed, or at all. The delay in bringing proceedings lies with the Claimant, making retrieving material evidence difficult, which is highly prejudicial. The Defendant has little knowledge of events, Due to the length of time and that the d  has not seen any letters before receiving court papers , the Defendant has limited  recollection of the day in question. Save that the d was a legitimate customer of Halfords who purchased a Halfords 20,000 battery The Defendant has parked in this car park many times while shopping in The Halfords Store. The Defendant was unaware of parking restrictions in place. The Defendant had not noticed any ‘Prominent’ signage close to where the vehicle was parked

    3. Referring to the POC: paragraph 1 is denied. The Defendant is not indebted to the Claimant. Paragraph 2 is denied. The Defendant does not accept that a contravention occurred on 26/11/2024, as alleged.  Whilst the Defendant is the registered keeper and driver , paragraphs 3 and 4 are denied. The Defendant is not liable and has seen no evidence of a breach of terms.  The quantum is hugely exaggerated (no PCN can be £170 on private land) and there were no damages incurred whatsoever.

Yes that'll do, within the template defence … but please don't show us that!

on the paper form there is a space to add evidence of disabilities etc . can I provide the name of my support worker on the mcol website when entering my defence ? Is there a section for this ?
My disability can make managing time difficult for me as need to rest at times . Is it worth entering my support workers name and details on the form ? ( not in the defence that will be ok as is I think as anything else as you guys already told me can come later on.

I put my defence in and submitted . I did a screenshot of my defence in the box and it all fitted with 10 lines remaining

But it appears to have cut off a sentence in para 2 which is clearly there in the screenshot I took before submitting
