£50 in Amazon gift cards for opening an Amazon Barclaycard credit card (ends 09/04/2026)

Hi,
Is the voucher linked to the account you sign up with? My partner and I are considering doing this with free accounts but neither have Prime on them unlike the main family account we use.

Yes, a free account is fine.

Thanks. I'm wondering whether the voucher is presented as a code which can be added to another account or whether it is tied to the free account you sign up with.

Not certain (my reward was in 10/24) but looking at my account gift card activity it looks like the reward was added directly as a credit to my Gift Card balance so didn't occur as an actual, transferable (electronic) voucher. There's no way to redeem/transfer Gift Card credit.
Maybe someone who has successfully applied for the current offer can comment?

Credit is added directly to your gift card balance, you have to be logged in to an Amazon account to apply for the credit card so everything is automatically interlinked - it also sets the CC as the default Amazon payment option.

My wife and I applied. Neither showed acceptance at the end but this then came through not long after with the £40 applied automatically to our respective Amazon a/cs.
I then sought to get online access. My Barclays credentials for when I had a current a/c with them no longer worked, so I tried to register. Apparently this is no longer possible if you only have the credit card, it is app only.
Proceeding to download the app and sign up was not smooth. When the text was received the code didn't copy & paste, then opening messages to view the code closed the Barclays app. I find the app self closes if you call up another app or have the screen saver kick in. It also froze on a couple of occasions.
I set up a direct debit but noticed it had to be from an account in my name. Fine for me, but I pay all our bills from a banking hub in my sole name so wouldn't be able to set this up for my wife's Barclaycard.
The extra £10 for registering was shown in my Amazon a/c.
Setting up the app for my wife's account on her phone didn't get far. Entering her phone number gave a message to say that the number did not agree with the one they held and she would need to call them. I had taken screenshots of our applications and could see the correct number was showing. Decided it wasn't worth proceeding for the extra £10 as it's unlikely the a/c would be used.
We may set up my Barclaycard as the default payment method on her Amazon a/c to get the 1% cashback, but it's hardly worth the bother (this may involve setting her up as an additional cardholder on my Barclaycard?).

That supplementary cardholder plan is a non-starter
- If you have an Amazon Barclaycard, it's not possible to add an additional cardholder
although as someone else asked upthread, it does seem that multiple persons can apply for the card via the same Amazon account.

I had issues with the App, too. My OH's was straight forward and the £40 and £10 were in his Amazon account within minutes of completing the process. But mine, well, the app wouldn't accept my phone number and I went round in circles. I gave up, but did get a message to wait until I receive the Barclaycard and then try again. My £40 was credited immediately, to my Amazon account, tho'.

I tried and failed the suitability test, probably because I said I didn't have a Barclaycard, but actually had one many years back which I just stopped using without closing it ( well before app days), never mind...

Can you try again, saying you do have one? I'd expect them to be able to match everything up easily enough, especially if your address hasn't changed
