Thanks to danny for the heads up. That's the quickest 50 quid I have ever "earned".

The £40 and £10 were added to my Amazon gift card balance almost immediately along with the card in my Barclays account list.

The first thing I did was not make the Barclaycard the default for Amazon purchases. I doubt it will be used at all.

I already had a Barclaycard Rewards that I wasn't really using much, it was only really intended for travel abroad for the 0% FX. I decided to switch it to the Amazon Barclaycard and immediately received the £40 & £10 gift card to my Amazon account.

Will probably have to look for another 0% FX card to become my new travel card.

I changed my BC to an Amazon one late last year, I had to set up a new DD for the new card.

Don't risk it. Get your OH to set up a (free) Amazon account in her own name (assuming there's an existing one in your name).

Me too. I use my longstanding 0.5% cashback Barclaycards for all non-supermarket spending and will make roughly £50 in under a year. The 0.5% cashback will then continue whilst the Amazon one will not.

Although saying that, I've not used the card for a good few years. I've been using 0% purchase credit cards and lately via bank account switching 1% cashback on debit card spending.
