What Would You Do If You Won £50,000

Pay off my debts (£2000), buy my mother a holiday home (£15,000) give my sister £5000, start an investment account (£10,000), buy a car (£3000), a new gaming PC (£1000) and put the rest in Premium Bonds (£14,000).
I'd probably wait a year before I did something like go on holiday. I'd plan it well in advance then do it as cheaply and as luxuriously as possible.2007 Won Ipod 30GB Video Sold on ebay for £136.51

Whats a sticky please?
Hi.At the top of page one there are a few threads that are 'sticky's which means they will always remain at the top of page one and won't get lost in with the other comp threads. There is a compers inn thread where the usual general discussion takes place:)
Hope that helps.Darren0 -
I'd be off to Florida for a holiday with our young family to stay in a Disney resort hotel.
Oh yes, and I need some new shoe laces too!One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.0 -
I'd pay a couple grand off my debts (thats the total I owe, not incl. student loans, which I refuse to accept as a 'proper' debt since it gets paid out of wages anyway, lol).
then, a long holiday, spending 2-3 weeks learning to surf, and 2-3 weeks learning to snowboard - obv. also buying some gear for both.
then...............
Gibson Les Paul (about a grand)
Jeff Beck signature Strat (about 1500)
Martin D28 (about 2 grand)
Mesa Boogie amp (about a grand)
Fender Princeton Reverb amp (6-700 quid??)
new mac powerpc (uh, 1-2000 quid??)
30" or 40" cinema display for new mac (uh...600-1000??)
various computer bits n pieces (probs another 5000 - incl. mic preamps, new interface, etc)
SLR camera, probs a Nixon D70 (uh, 1000??)
then bank the penies I have left!Win 2008 in 2008 member number.....237!!! Won so far: £0.00

I've said it once, and I will say it again, Baby Giant, the reason this forum works so well, and is, I am sure one of the friendliest and most helpful is that people do feel free to post. Just ignore the threads that don't have an end date on them. It shows by the amount of people who have responded to this thread that people do want to chat away from the discussion thread, as one thread only goes really quickly and gets very jumbled. Someone will not doubt merge it soon.
Whats the prob
. I said "please" and "thanks".
It isn't as if I put anything in CAPS or was rude in anyway like post loads of
.
But in the end - Forum rules are Forum rules. I bet Kipper doesn't get this flack later today today when she informs OP that this is being moved to the discussions thread.
I now feel deeply hurt by all your negative comments about me and so.......I will retire to Bed #THANKYOUSIRALEX0 -
Yes I would love to win a large sum of money like that as then we could say goodbye to Debit Free Direct & our costly IVA :j(it keeps going up eventhough we were told it would be reduced after 2 yrs:mad: )
My wife could pay some of the money that she owes on the house to her ex:beer:
Then the remainder can go on the doing up this house which we have struggled to do for the last 6 years what with having small kids & both working shifts :j

Those *are* major prizes to me!! What do you class as a major prize then :think:0 -
I'd have a smallish holiday and put the rest in a high interest account to give to DD for a deposit when she leaves Uni. No chance of her getting one for many years on a teachers salary.
Mind you she might marry a rich man one day, in which case we'll have a biggish holiday instead.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -

I would pay off my OH student loan and overdraft, get a small car and finish my driving lessons. Then probably save the rest, got used to being so in debt that I dont know what to do with money when I've got it now.
I've seen what happens when you've lived the high life and had to come crashing down, so I would stay grounded no matter how much I got. Might spend a few hundred updating my dvd collection though....mmmWin £2008 in 2008 member's club number 302008: Iguana, 2 x Cadbury DVD, 3 x Book, Mascara, Chubby Brown DVD, Asterix Wii Game, 3 Beanie Hats, Bag, Armband,
