I've said it once, and I will say it again, Baby Giant, the reason this forum works so well, and is, I am sure one of the friendliest and most helpful is that people do feel free to post. Just ignore the threads that don't have an end date on them. It shows by the amount of people who have responded to this thread that people do want to chat away from the discussion thread, as one thread only goes really quickly and gets very jumbled. Someone will not doubt merge it soon.
  • I'd pay off my debts, move to a house with a bigger garden & take the family to Florida. Which are all the things I am aiming for anyway:T

But like haynrich I'd give it all back to have my Mum back, who died in March.

haynrich don't get yourself into debt for a funeral, I'm sure your MIL wouldn't want you to, you don't have to prove to anyone how much you loved her by putting on a big do. We got my mum a bamboo coffin, from ecocoffins, it was really unusual & really feminine & was the same price as the cheapest coffin avail. All my best wishes to you & your family :grouphug:
Comping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

I agree aswell we want to keep it friendly but what's the point of having the discussion sticky's?
Kipper has stated that she wants all these threads posted in there and has moved loads:)

If we are going to just have threads about general topics then we might aswell get rid of the sticky's and that will make more room on page one for comps?

I totally agree too. The discussion stickies are long and rambling and hard to keep up with. And it doesn't seem a big deal to have the odd one on the comps pages. Personally I'm more concerned by the fact that some people just tell other people off all the time, it's so much better that this forum stays a friendly place

I know there has been quite a few discussions posted recently in the wrong places but they've been mainly by newcomers who don't know the board properly yet. Yes, there is a discussion forum and 90% of the time the discussions are held in there but the odd discussion in the wrong place does no harm and I think it encourages people to 'talk' to each other a lot more than they would normally. I think furndire's problem (and some others too, myself included) is not with the discussions being in the wrong place but with certain people being quite rude and bossy.

  • I'd buy a new Golf GTI (in black of course!), clear off my debts including my student loan and buy some really expensive beauty products! Any left would go in my house fund.
Back comping after a wee while off!

  • Well what a good thread.

If it was me, after I had picked myself up from the floor of course, I would pay off the credit cards, my car and then I would put some in trust for each of the kids and the rest I would put toward moving house and decorating the one up we have now.

    Can't we have a discussion sub-forum? I'd use it.

As for the £50k - I'd pay off debts (about £5k) and send my DH to college. I'd probably bank the rest and wait for the housing crash. ;)
