Dad! How could you! I was only doing what you asked, that's the last time I help you out with one of your schemes.

And you can forget about that lift to the 'clinic' tomorrow too.

Crikey, been away a few hours and this topic has gone ballistic.

However, we still don't know what was "obviously covered" and yet denied by Zurich.

I fear those complaining about Zurich denying claims are never going to tell us all the circumstances.

Has there ever been an insurance company that has never denied a claim? The few aggrieved make the most noise, and in this case it's one person (and their VPN) making a hellava LOT of noise (and threads).

    Yes!

But they had never paid a claim either. Actually know more than one but they are all doing rather niche products and most were only a few years old so not the vastest amount of time. The other had been going much longer but only covered cataclysm type events to ultra expensive buildings and they'd basically been lucky. The buildings no doubt had had claims but these had a minimum of a £500m excess (if you want to think of it like home insurance)

Some lines of business have potentially never declined a claim, again niche stuff. I did some work on Space Launch insurance and given you can watch every claim happen live on tv you arent going to be saying that the rocket didnt go bang.

Cue a rant from OP about Zurich not paying out on his aborted Moon holiday.

Zurich do write Space, though would note the cover is normally for the satellites inside the rocket rather than crewed missions which are done by governments who dont buy insurance. Again reiterate the insurer I worked with wasnt Zurich

I am trying to find out consumer experience of Zurich Travel Insurance. I did start a previous one but unfortunately it was polluted with persons who obviously have an interest in or are employed by Zurich, who proceeded to attack anyone who had a bad experience of Zurich insurance.

There are a lot of people who have had a very bad experience of Zurich Insurance in particular in regards to Travel Insurance. The FCA are currently carrying out an investigation of this and welcome input from consumers.

My own experience was that I took out a policy for Travel Insurance then booked a holiday some months after taking out the policy. Shortly before going on holiday I was diagnosed with a serious illness and had to cancel the holiday. I made a claim to Zurich who originally accepted the claim it was only after they realized how much it would cost them did they refuse my claim, arguing I should have known about my illness. I complained to the Ombudsman who upheld my complaint.

I know there are a lot of Zurich customers who had similar problems, but could not be bothered going through the burdensome complaints process. I would like hear from you and whether you have complained to the FCA?
