Thank you Honey Bear5 -
Devoid of energy today so apart from eating I've done absolutely nothing. I need to get a proper wiggle on tomorrow to prep the house for the two arrivals on Sunday.
I'd say normal service will be resumed tomorrow but let's be honest, me doing zip is normal.
And the computer's making clanking sounds so I can't use it until the tecky guy has been.
Welcome Sassy.

Well two things to smile about, I have a bunch of dear friends on here that say wise and kind things. Thank you. And Sassy! What a beautiful creature, welcome to the family.
I drove 50 miles to my conference yesterday, and 50 miles back - get me. It was fine. I checked out the three roundabouts for getting there on Google maps so I knew what lane I needed to be in but didnt do the same for the return journey! It was fine but I will definitely do that again before I travel. And I managed to have a chat with a kind and sensible work colleague about the mistake. He will back me up if needs be.
My brother said "it's just a job Sis". He is right of course, I get too emotionally involved in it all.
So today, a little paid stuff, some dusting and hoovering, my yoga class swapped from earlier in the week when I worked late, a scrub down of the bathroom, sheets washed dried and put away, and a little snooze on the sofa.
DS1 is training for a charity hike and tomorrow I am walking with him 16.5 miles along the Yorkshire Coast. Can I actually do it? Well there is only one way to find out!!

Sassy is lovely.
@Fayolle - I cleaned the 2 Venetian blinds in the kitchen today too. I was spending more time thinking about doing it than it took to do it. I cleaned the inside of the windows and I've asked the window cleaner to do us next time he's in our road. Then brandishing my glass cleaning stuff I did the outside of the oven door, microwave, wardrobe doors, kitchen door glass and front door glass.
Cleaned the tea and coffee making zone in the kitchen including the containers. Cat feeding station scrubbed and bowls thoroughly cleaned.
I tackled a small stain on the bedroom carpet that looks suspiciously like nail varnish, although I would deny liability if asked 🙃. It's nearly gone and I think one more attack will get rid of it.
10 minutes filing and shredding done.

Cute Sassy.
Well done with the swim Valli.
This morning was the planned breakfast out with my two swim buddies. Yum. We talked for so long that we got through 3 cups of beverage each. Lovely breakfast - a no nonsense cafe that only takes cash - but I didn't feel hungry again till I came back from zumba at 7pm, then had the little piece of leftover pizza from yesterday with salad and the last mince pie from the freezer.
Went to the library on my way home. Got a few cards; had to replace the lost Mother's Day card so I'm bound to find it on about Tuesday.
Filled up with petrol for my journey to DB tomorrow. Eek at the cost (yes, I really miss the blue eek emoji).
Finished and sewed up M's gloves, Mr N messaged her son to see if he was going to see her on Sunday - yes, and he'd be happy to take the gift to her (he lives near us) so I'll drop them off to him tomorrow after swimming.
Went to zumba. Was rather alarmed when the frost warning binged at me on the way home - 4 degrees.
Started more gloves. Yes it's an addiction; I should really try something else……but they are popular. I'm enjoying the funky colours, although in small garments like gloves you get such a variety of colours that it looks as though the two gloves are from different pairs; one is reddish and the other green/orange as that's how the wool goes. How does it manage to always go in neat stripes; what would it do if I knitted something wider like a jumper?
Had quite a few messages from various stepsiblings today. Sad.
That's enough rambling for now. Have a good weekend everyone and hope all you Mums get pampered.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
It's tough getting rid of the past but it does free up space for the future.7 -
Morning all xx
Thank you for the warm welcome for Sassy. She seems to be settling in nicely.
We had a quiet day together yesterday. My head was a total shed. Found myself Googling 'everything is too much' - oh yes, that would be overwhelm. I'm inclined to beat myself up (mentally) so I tried to cut myself some slack. There's been a lot going on. I've got on with it. And this is payback. Just breathe....
I pulled out Joey's cage and gave the base and cage a good clean. I'll wash the fixtures and fittings today. Then Sassy can move in on Monday. Joey's cage is a deluxe detached budgie mansion, while the cage that Sassy arrived in is more bijou apartment. Its very nice but she doesn't have much room. Oh. We've just had our first wing stretch...P says that's always a good sign that the bird is feeling comfortable 😀
YL well done. 😘
HB thank you for confirming that a day 'off' doing is allowed 😘
I'm looking at the house thinking 'what happened?' Life! Life happened. Its OK. Start again from where I am. That's all anyone can do.
I'm up, made my bed, taken my meds, turned over the calendars, completed the nyt puzzles (no hints on Strands, Wordle in four, no lives lost on Connections) and supped a brew.
I'm going to open the curtains- we had a frost overnight 🥶, make another brew, eat something, then grab a Saturdailies template, update and amend it, and start from there. Sounds like a plan.
Pops is building up his strength and mobility, under the GP, and she seems switched on.
The chap who took the biopsy told me he doesn't think it's cancer. Hopefully the results will confirm that. Then it'll be down to Endocrinology to sort out my wacky thyroid.
I now know what my rent, C.Tax, and water bill is for the next year, so I can budget accordingly. It's going to be tight but I have a regular income and I'll be fine.
Sorry. Bit of a brain dump there. Made some room to think straight 😉
Love to you all.

Morning all,
Well done, YL x
Round, pressing reset now will be easier as you have made such progress over the years - just look at the Saturdailies list that you can lay your hands on. Baby steps. It’s a cold and frosty start here too, but a beautiful blue sky. The wm has just finished, so I think that I might take a stroll to the allotment for some fresh air and gentle exercise. Let’s just say that Slinky has well and truly left the building. Apart from that, and maybe a session in the gh this afternoon, I have little else on the agenda. I have some bread dough proving, so will bake that later when cooking tea.
I hope everyone has a restful and peaceful day x5 -

Saturdailies are done, which means I'm clean, laundry has been swished, pots have been WUDUPA, bins have been emptied and new bin bags fitted. All the basic basics done.
I've also sploshed bleach down the loo, basin plughole and bath plughole; WUDU and recycled a couple of glass jars; put my gloves in my coat pocket; binned empty toothpaste and moisturiser tubes; and gathered up all receipts, mail, flyers, and put them in one pile.
HHAdmin next methinks.
Hope everyone is having a good day.
