Finally…some flying. It has taken all day, mind, with many an interruption. Bathroom is finally cleaned, bedroom also dusted and vacuumed, ditto the hall, stairs and landing. Having been home alone and in charge of the remote last night, I saw how…shudder…disgusting said remote was. That is now clean, along with sockets and light switches. Indoor plants watered.
This morning's interruption to flying was a surprise long chat with DD who is now in Malaysia. Lovely to talk to her for the first time in what feels like much longer than a week. Then I dropped a card and small present over to a friend for her birthday, was invited in for coffee and we proceeded to catch up for nearly 2 hours! The promised day of sunshine started with fog which took until after lunch to clear. Tomorrow is tentatively booked as allotment morning, hoping the sun will show before 2pm, and some time in the gh. Mr M delivery for tomorrow has been finalised. Oh, did I mention that some fabric appears to have been ordered 😳. It arrived this morning…whoops🤭.
I hope you had a lovely afternoon tea with your DD, Iona.8 -
Thank you Fayolle - it was great to have my DD to myself for 1.5 hours! Not a full afternoon tea, but some excellent FairTrade coffee and delicious cake 😋
I reckon that phonecall from Malaysia has moved you up at least 10 places in the list of award winners for the Best Excuses Not To Fly 🤣 xx

Washing line dried; DW and TD locked and loaded. Scored some free ood eggs so made crustless quiche which has been eaten or popped into a labelled polybox ready for the freezer-in-the-shed though I freeze indoors first. More incentive to check the shed freezer inventory which I have messed up.
Might start spring cleaning in my BR tomorrow - want to move furniture. No point doing DDs until she moves to steel city - but when she goes I shall be spring cleaning in there…#excited

It's good to hear that some of us were able to spend precious time with family and friends. It's so important.
Today was an office day, so out at 6:45ish and back by 17:30 (the free bus from the office didn't come in time and I missed the earlier train). I cooked tea for DH/DS2 and made a rather nice cauli (with other veg thrown in) and lentil curry from a simply cook kit - 4 portions in overall for my teas/lunches. I don't mind eating the same thing for a few meals. Since then I've swapped a few items in my oddbox for next week's delivery and chosen the next meal kits, so they don't send me randoms again. I've also done some of the reading for the lent course as I missed the first session last week. Unless my head's busy I'm constantly feeling like something's brewing. I'd rather be well than unwell, but this 'in between' is wearing thin.
DH has put some of his laundry away and taken the dog out, and I've seen to the dishwasher/the pots from cooking. Pets have been fed and I will sort the litter tray before collecting DH from his outing, but that will be it. I didn't sleep well last night and I'm ready for bed. Not the productive week I'd planned, but plodding on is better than sprinting and running out of steam. Another office day tomorrow, before WFH on Friday (and looking after grandson afternoon/evening).

Morning all. I'm up and just about to go and get showered and dressed for the day.
Looks like I've got to have another course of steroids as the last lot didn't quite get it completely. So after a day without them I'm just waiting for the Dr to get back to me to let me know I can collect the prescription 😊 Hopefully that will be the end and I'll actually be able to do the things that I need to do now the weather is nice 🙂 Actually walking upstairs would be nice without gasping for air...lol
Iona so glad you spent some time with your DD
How lovely for you to chat to your DD from Malaysia Fayolle.
I think I'll clear a box of gibble once I've got myself settled on the sofa. It'll give me something productive to do. Have the bath mats going around in the washing machine and the line put up outside ready to put them on once washed. Once I've had my shower I'll take the shower curtain down and pop that in the machine, once the bath mats are finished.
Oooh that reminds me must sort the chicken out to marinate for tonight.
Cup of tea I think then shower xx

Bedding on the line drying beautifully. My wardrobe emptied, vacuumed and dusted internally, moved out of its space; space cleaned - many, many cobwebs vacuumed from bock of wardrobe and dusted from wall. Clothes reurned, hangers dusted, some destined for ebay have gone into soon-to-be guest room (DDs room) and others bagged for CS along with, so far, a couple of pairs of shoes. Stuff DS left here and doesn't want taken down for binning or CS if decent enough to sell. It'll probably take me 2/3 sessions to empty and move all furniture in my room and clean behind/under it but I'm sorting as I am emptying so it will take longer.
Just having a break. And a sit down.

I made the most of the sunshine to wash our sofa blankets and cushion covers which are now fresh and dry. Lounge hoovered and dusted.
I tidied my jumpers drawer and have added 3 to the charity shop bag. I've kept them for the last 3 years using the just in case rationale but I really don't anticipate ever wearing them again. I watched Diane in Denmark's wardrobe re-vamp video this week and it was very enlightening. I'm going to methodically but ruthlessly sort out my clothes. Dusted the chest of drawers and wiped the wardrobe doors down to remove the fingerprints on the glass.
Freezer inventory for March is done, cat flea treatment administered and meter reading submitted. I try to do these chores in the first week of each month.
I did a bit of garden tidying too and it looks much better. Lots of bulbs getting ready to flower which will be lovely.

Foodbank session done, and new person
half trainedshown how to do my job. It'll take a couple of sessions because it's a fiddly thing to do, but I think she's going to ace it fairly quickly. Hope so, because I won't be here for five weeks in May/June and I don't want to come back to a mountain of work. Having said that, she's job-hunting and volunteering is part of that process, so in fairness to her I can only hope she gets something she wants so I might lose her having trained her, but she says she wants a part time job so she'll carry on volunteering. Either way, the ball's rolling at last. I've been squawking about needing someone for at least six months so it's progress. Zero flying other than putting away yesterday's laundry because I've had to bring nearly all the F'bank paperwork home to do because training takes up a lot of time and I'm limited as to how many hours I can put in at the F'bank because after 1.00pm we get slapped with parking tickets if we overstay our welcome. So, instead of dusting I'm adding things up and putting them on the database. Such a shame as, obviously, I'd much rather be dusting. *snigger*I've realised why I always feel behind the curve. It's because I'm always rushing to get this thing done before I need to move on to the next urgent thing, and what that means is nothing is every fully finalised so all the work I do is half done, or done just enough to move on, but not actually completed. I'm making a conscious effort to fully finish things and - much to my surprise - it turns out it only takes a few minutes to do that, which is a bit of a revelation. It's not a discipline I find easy but I'm working on it.
Just had the quote in from the roofer. Where that's blue hair raising  emoji when you need it?
