@Rhyddid2026 I put mine into voluntary liquidation purely because of the paperwork and the costs, Ideally you would draw up and upload your micro accounts and then pay your corp tax and get it all out of the way in one go. From memory as a micro entity you have to do accounts for the HMRC, and a balance sheet for companies house - numbers are not necessarily the same unless your dates match. There is a fee for companies house confirmation (annual) which is £50 I think, again that can be offset against your costs. I drew up a spreadsheet financial year of income and detailed costs together with opening and closing balances for the business account which gave me all the info I needed. If you do them even a day late you get fined (companies house) - don't ask how I know this!
Despite epic adventures yesterday and very sore feet I spent today exiting things from the building. Lots of junk removed from the garden, garden shed, polytunnel and the greenhouse.

Delurking to suggest you have a look at the Business Gateway site. They have lots of useful advice on this, and free advisors that you can speak to. As a minimum you can claim some of your home heating and lighting etc costs - or a flat rate per HMRC website rates, and also the costs of business related travel.

Could you claim the £10 a month home office allowance ?

I don't want to claim anything, I just want to pay the tax and close the business and move on. I should never have set it up in the first place.

Ah @Rhyddid2026 you have so much going on to do at the moment! You are smashing it even if it doesn't feel like it. It'll all be sorted soon 🥂

Thanks Pip, can you tell I'm a bit tired and grumpy?😆
I have now sent off the shipping forms and necessary documents. I've done the best I can so hopefully it is all ok. Hopefully all that's left to do is be at home to hand over the boxes on Thursday.
Send me all the good wishes you can, because if anything goes wrong now I might start crying and I'm not sure when I'd stop.
I'm treating myself to a bottle of prosecco once those boxes leave my house!

Excellent work getting all the forms sent off @Rhyddid2026 👏
I'm sure nothing will go wrong as you are an intelligent and diligent person, but if there does happen to be anything that needs a slight change then you will manage that fine, as you are an intelligent and diligent person.
Prosecco very much deserved! Preferably drank whilst sitting sprawled in your retrieved-from-boxes space 🥂

I did. My two panthers (terrors) now ruling my life. But I love them.
