Sky Broadband - switching provider after price rise advice

Hi all,

I had an email from Sky on 20th Feb saying my broadband prices were going up by £3.00 in April. It is my understanding that I can leave penalty free because of this, but only within 30 days of being notified. My contract doesn't officially end until May 2027.

I have spoken with Sky via chat and they offered nothing but switching me to full fibre for the same price, which they offered to do for free a few months ago anyway. I assume I can get better deals elsewhere, so will leave.

I asked about how that penalty free process works and they said that I can switch "through One Touch Switch, and we'll waive the early termination for you" so I assume I can just start a switch with another provider and the penalty will automatically be waived.

I'm not 100% sure how this works and am worried about being charged by them. Does this all sound correct?

This would also mean I would switch right at the end of March, how does that work for the monthly cost with a new provider? Will it be the April prices or a percentage of the March prices before April rises kick in?

I assume I cannot wait an extra month and then switch, I have to do it within the 30 days to avoid the penalty?

Lastly, can anyone recommend places to search best deals other than MSE? The prices I'm being quoted here are only a couple of pounds cheaper than what I will be paying with Sky, even with cashback voucher etc being included.

Thanks for the help!
