Lloyds switch for up to £500, 24 February to 30 April 2026

I managed to get approved for the account and am switching/planning to pay in minimum in hope of the £500 bonus but when I opened the app I saw old Halifax messages from March 2023 with £175 switch bonus, so I technically disqualify by 3 months! Has anyone found that Lloyds pay the switch incentive despite not qualifying under the date terms or are they v.strict?

The latter, unfortunately.

Thanks. Darn it. I should have kept a record of all my switches…

Does spending £200 online for the Premier count towards the spend?
0 -
Yes if it's for something like purchasing stuff on Amazon or buying your groceries.
No if it's for something like betting on the horses or buying lottery tickets or renewing your home insurance.

Still bum information in this week's MSE email re Lloyds switching - says that joint accounts can be switched -but had it reconfirmed yesterday that prospective joint account holders have to both have eligible Lloyds sole accounts/products before they can apply to set up a joint account ready to switch over from an existing joint account elsewhere.

Will buying £200 Tesco gift cards through Blue light card count towards the spending?
Thanks

I think the general concensus is if you are buying gift cards online then they probably won't count as Lloyd's could class them as Financial Services.
If you buy them in store from a supermarket then all Lloyd's will see is a purchase at Tesco so it would count.

Only problem is maximum you can put on a Tesco gift card in store is £25 and we have £600 to spend across 3 accounts.

I think the best thing is to contact Lloyds by chat to check. I can't see any issue with using the card to purchase discounted gift cards as I don't see it as a "financial service", it's just a purchase.
But my opinion is meaningless and it's how Lloyds classify the purchasing of discounted gift cards that matters.
