Query for more experienced switchers to Lloyds - was just going to set up a switch of a joint NatWest account to Club Lloyds for the bonus but can't seem to find a route which doesn't require us to both open sole accounts first then apply for a joint account that we can then switch into. Am I correct ?

Watched a Youtube video that suggested that we could apply for joint account directly but that option doesn't sem possible online

Don't know about the joint account mechanism but do you not have sole accounts you could switch for twice the bonus? If not existing then quick to set up a couple.

In a word - no sole accounts - just three joint accounts. And not got time now to switch existing DDs to new accounts and have them active before the switch deadline. Just can't see WHY we can't switch existing joint account directly. May phone them tomorrow.

To answer my own query - adviser said NO ! Have to both be customers of Lloyds already - then can apply for a joint account BUT may have to present ourselves at a branch ! Not happening - oh well ……..

The switch offer requires you to 'spend' £200 or £500 within the first 35 days.

Anyone know if the usual ways to enhance debit card spend will work towards this? e.g. making debit card payments into savings accounts (like the old Halifax Reward days)?

    No, the offer says

for Lloyds Premier, spend £200 within the first 35 days and deposit £5,000

Anyone can spend £200 in a month, normal shopping in Tesco (or a decent lunch).

    It's £100 or £200.

If Lloyds classify that as Bank transfers made with your debit card, then no.

Lunch? Aw, you gotta be kidding. Lunch is for wimps. 🤣

Remember you don't have to spend the £200 in one go (or just £100 for Club Lloyds); that's just the total needed within 35 days. Your grocery shopping in that period could easily come to more than £200.

Anyone get any notification that their switch is underway? I had an sms March 30 confirming I had submitted a switch request. Heard nothing since. If I hear nowt (or see no evidence) Monday I'll maybe submit it again…

    My mistake, I meant £100 or £200!

Yes I think probably I will be able to spend £200 though being an MSEer I don't want to spend for the sake of it! So was looking for any additional ways in case I don't manage to genuinely spend £200, such as making payments into a savings account by debit card. I guess I could also buy a gift card somewhere as that would just be delayed spending
