Lloyds switch for up to £500, 24 February to 30 April 2026

There have been reports of accounts being blocked for AML/fraud checks if done immediately. However, when I do this offer I'm not going to leave it in there.

Yes I had to go through this. Very annoying when I'm sending it back to the account it came from, both in my name. Guy I spoke to was very thorough but very professional too.
I've just the second £5K today which went in and out no problem.

Thanks, I'll leave it 24 hours anyway.
For the offer, do you know if it's okay to start the switch a few days after the new Lloyds Premier account has been opened, or does the switch need to be done during the initial application stage?

There's nothing in the terms that say you need to start the switch during the application. As long as it's a brand new account and you start the switch before the cut off date then you will be okay.

FTAOD:
"Open a new Lloyds Premier account online between 24 Feb 2026 and 30 Apr 2026"

Could anyone advise if it is easier to apply via the app or just online? Thanks.

I've never had any bank account specify when I can spend my salary

Well, payment blocked when trying to send the £5000 back to my initial bank. Left it a good 24 hours. Now on the phone to Lloyds Fraud Department. Ugh!

I have lost access to Gourmet Society after downgrading the original Premier account 😣 The new one was opened in early March but Gourmet Society benefit has not materialised yet. Any ideas how long it might take, based on the experience? I cannot access the BUPA benefits either because… BUPA app does not run on Samsung tablets 🤬

Salary, especially if it is over 5000GBP threshold, would not be paid as a fast payment from your own bank account. I have had similar issues with Barclays - they have blocked my 1500GBP payment to Lloyds but allowed me to make several small payments totalling 1600GBP, that took about a week…. oh well.
