  • What is a behavior score?
  • I didn't know Banks did that. Very interesting. Any help to increase my score with HSBC would help.

I was about to say data protection act but I see the article mentions it. However I suspect a good score is not the key to all products - those with an excellent score may actually make the bank very little money - it must be much easier to make money from peope who are not savvy enough to aviod charges or shop arround for the best deal on every financial product.
    I think....

The guardian article tells you all. It tells you from start to finish.

To get a good behaviour score you just have to use and manage your own current account with out being charged. Have alot of money and use that banks facilities.

Just be aware that this has nothing to do with your credit score!

    Don't worry about it.

    Specific to HSBC B/scores -

    1) Have a reasonable balance on the 7th of the month in your current account.

    2) Open up some kind of savings account and have a SO going in each month, even if a small amount.

    3) Avoid using the cashpoint much.

The more savings you have and no late charges on account then you get better deals on the personal loans and credit cards. Getting a mortgage is easier too. this goes for any high street lender.
  • Surprised that using the cashpoint could affect your b/score.

    What about your debit card???

    Are you a HSBC employee?

Spooky - I have a "sweep" set up to move surplus cash from current to savings on the 8th (score well on the other 2 also, could be premier league material... lol).

Thought they'd have some element of "paying HSBC interest on loans/mortgage" in there.
