Appreciate thar you want to sort out the "deeds" but it takes ages for them to be registered anyway although they can be expedited if you sell. So no hurry. Your own wills and LPAs are priority, particularly with a child.

Point taken about the wills....and the headaches for family if/when the worse happens and they aren't in place. Will look into the LPA's too....having been scrambling to obtain deputyships to deal with my parents health issues completely makes sense to have those setup in advance.

Although it is important to do a will asap, the issue of the property ownership may still be relevant. How do you intend to own the property (sole ownership, tenants in common with your wife, joint tenants with your wife), and to whom do you intend to leave the property to upon your death? To your wife, in trust to your child?

So you may like to give the above some consideration before drafting your will. If you want to leave the property in your will, the legal ownership may need to be in order first. Your chosen solicitor may offer to sort that for you with the Land Registry at a cost (assuming their office has conveyancing facilities)

All good points and have briefly thought about this before and what would be the most efficient setup for future planning ( briefly meaning didn't do much else but it's an aspect we need to think about!)

I don't know is the honest answer at the moment and think would probably need professional or Legal advice to take into consideration my wife's situation and what would be the best approach considering the full/consolidated picture of our circumstances.
