Smokers more so than pets. But houses can be cleaned and the things that tend to smell are usually easy to replace (carpets, curtains).
But again if you were going to have a problem with the house you'd have noticed whilst you were in it. Were the ceilings yellow and greasy? Did it smell of dogs/urine or hairs on everything?
If not, you'll be fine. You're 100% overthinking this.0 -
My partner told me she seen it’s 5 grand less and fixed price now already so must be a hurry to sell make of that what you will.

Actually seen at night and spent no longer than 10 mins in it.

But the lights were on?
10 minutes isn't long, but you'd have noticed any major smoking / pet issues.0 -
It could be anything, maybe someone else found an issue and the price has been adjusted, maybe they've found somewhere they want to move to and want to hurry things up.

Why would they hang around remarketing it after you have messed them about?
The sooner its back on the market the quicker they will find a genuine buyer.

Perhaps because they led you up the garden path, they made an offer on their onward property and now they're having to make it right.

Maybe they have found their dream home and need a quck sale as an early entry is required.
You ptreviously mentioned buying Scotland Early entry is normal in Scotland
Yould phone the agent and ask why it has been reduced,ou c
Why are you concerned about it.
You don't want it, so move on.
You would save everybody's time if you told an agent that you did not want a house where there had been pets, before you arrange a viewing.

...which takes us back to new builds.

Just buy a new build and hope that the builders haven't ever used the toilet.
We bought a bungalow in a probate sale. The old lady had died in it. Never gave it a second's thought.
We never ask anyone to take their shoes off unless they are exceptionally muddy.
