I can confirm this as I did it recently in Feb.

BOS monthly saver https://apply.bankofscotland.co.uk/sales-content/cwa/b/pao/index-app.html?WT.ac=top-apply/savings-monthlysvr/deep-link#/monthlysvr/before-you-start asks:
Are you already registered for online banking with Lloyds, Halifax or Bank of Scotland?
If I select yes, it takes you to a BOS login page which does not accept my Halifax credentials.
Has anyone managed to open this without a BOS current account?
I know they are all part of the same group, and show each others accounts once setup, so seems a strange rule and question

BOS monthly Saver.
I had the same experience. I have various accounts with Lloyds and the Halifax RS, but had to open a BOS classic account to then be able to open the RS.

Don't the T&Cs say you need a BoS current account to open a BoS monthly saver?
Halifax is the only regular saver you can open without a corresponding current account
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?1 -
Although in practice you'll likely find it much easier if you have a Halifax current account!

Not sure of this is still the case, but many years ago I was able to register for BoS online banking separately using the details of my Halifax current account. I have a separate username/password, different from my Halifax login. Have used this to open a BoS RS at the end of last year without holding a BoS current account.

Exactly as I did, three years ago. I've never had a BoS current account.

Thanks very much, registered an existing Halifax account with BOS.
Logged in to BOS and Halifax accounts visible. Applied for the BOS monthly saver fine. Funded by quick transfer from Halifax and saver visible in their app too.
5.50% AER fixed and withdrawals allowed, worth having!
Anyone tried doing the same for Lloyds? Product page says Club Lloyds required but the BOS worked fine without BOS current account...
Strange how they all have separate logins.

Hanley Economic BS Online RS at 6.3% NLA.
P1 of this thread shall be updated later today.

I would suggest posting this in the Top Easy Access Discussion thread instead as that would be a much more appropriate place for it and I don't really want to risk derailing this thread again.
