I have it but only £1 in at present.
4.75% isn't that appealing right now, but who knows what will happen over the next 12 months? We're expecting a gradual reduction in the Bank of England rate, maybe to 3%, but if some great crisis unfolds then that rate could be almost zero very quickly.
Principality regular savers allow early closure without penalty as well, so I always nab each issue as they are released.

Not for me.
It's well below the legacy Easy Access ISA account I have.
I was considering taking out/contributing more to a few more fixed RS around the 5% on the back of the BoE notes last month.
However the Middle Eastern uncertainty looks to have hugely reduced any chance of any interest rate change in the near future.

That's why I am holding off opening the TSB 5% Monthly. Its not one where you can close and reopen if TSB suddenly offers a 6% regular.

Darlington RS
Forgive me for unashamedly tapping into the RS brains trust!
I've identified that interest on this account is paid on maturity and annually. Can anyone confirm what the situation is upon early closure? ie is the balance of interest to date (from Jan 1st) paid, and will it be included in the settled closing balance?

if you close it completely all interest will be paid out on closure, both the 1st Jan credit and the accrued interest to date of closure

Nice one, thanks!

For Co-op regular saver, I plan to refresh it later this month after I messed up and forgot to transfer the amount from the current account to regular saver for 2 months. I vaguely remember it takes a few days to do this with the Co-op, am I correct?

C0-Op
Mine took 6 weeks to close. Still the complaint compensation was worth it.

I've opened it and put £1 in in case it becomes appealing or competitive at a later date
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -
Co-op
Opening takes 2-3 working days in my experience. Don't know about early closure, I've never refreshed Co-op RS.
