It will mature 1 year from the date you opened it, it transforms into an easy access account the next day, with the interest added.
Might be an idea to keep the easy access open with minimal funding, just to maintain membership.

Scottish BS
Maturity email said mine matured with added interest today.
No sign yet

Probably be end of day then
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?1 -

My First Direct RS matured on Monday and the interest was added. I expected it to disappear on Tuesday and return as an EA account the next day, which is what happened last year. However, it is still sitting there showing as a RS with 1.5% interest rate, and it can't be accessed. Is this normal? I would obviously like to withdraw it and set up another.

Good timing. Just received maturity email but no date.
Cheers

Same, just received Hanley Economic email, rather generic with no specific date mentioned "as your Smart Saver account approaches maturity". Shame there is only a branch version of the Smart Saver available at the moment, branch visit is not an option for me.

Same, offering another as a maturity option only would have been nice given that the Smart Saver product still exists.
I’ll be letting it convert, transferring all but £1 (my understanding is this new account is the cheapest way to retain membership) into my Boosted Base Rate Tracker and withdrawing what I need from there to fill October RS capacity.

Best option is to phone them. They can usually sort it while you wait.

I got on to First Direct live chat and they moved the money from my RS into my current account while on chat. They said the RS would be changed into an EA account too, but it's still a RS at the moment.
