The second one. My Club Lloyds RS was around ten months in and my normal Lloyds monthly saver was about six months in. I could have renewed both RS accounts and opened the new 8% Lloyds RS when it was released but I decided to keep both going and hope the 8% was still on offer when my Club Lloyds matured, fortunately this was the case.

But, due to Lloyds new rule about only allowing someone to hold one regular saver I also had to renew my normal Lloyds monthly saver into an easy access before I was able to open the new Club Lloyds 8% RS.

Buckinghamshire BS, Bucks Regular Saver Online i2 6.4% AER

My understanding is that there is no maturity date for this regular saver. But there is £3,000 saving limit on this account.

So if you keep feeding this RS £250 for 12 consecutive months and on the anniversary date, you remove the interest, your £3,000 will keep earning the stated interest, currently 6.4%. Is my understanding correct ?

    TIA.

  • Thanks, I missed this statement on the first read:

"Your account will mature on your Anniversary date. The full balance, including interest, will then be automatically transferred to a variable rate easy access account"

    Halifax RS Renewal

Thank you to all who posted on renewing Halifax RS, pushing the date on a bit. I wasn't going to, but after seeing so many who had success posting about it, decided to take the bull by the horns and success, job done. Works out well for me as going from nil RS's for the month of July, suddenly found myself with four, so now down to 3. I do like to have RS's spread out a bit over the year, but there were too many temptations in July. 😂

What is the likely hood when the Halifax login stops and you hold a Halifax regular saver and have not renewed your Lloyds regular saver you won,'t be able to open a new Lloyds regular saver?

Or is it already to late?

You can currently open a new Lloyds RS while holding a Halifax RS. T&Cs can be changed at any time to prevent that.

I think that is very unlikely. Although the Halifax log in will stop at the end of October I am sure I saw that the actual accounts you already hold with Halifax will still be Halifax branded at least for the time being. I don't think it would be at all reasonable for Lloyds to stop you opening a Lloyds RS because you hold a Halifax one. It might be different if at some point they rebrand your existing Halifax RS, but I am not convinced that will happen give that they will all naturally end within 12 months anyway, so seems rather pointless to me.

That being said, my Lloyds RS (Club) is due to mature on 3rd November and I am slightly tempted to renew it in the last week of October just to be on the save side!!!

So is it likely that the Halifax renew option will cease at the same time at the end of October?
