Considerations will be
a) Where the money will go if the account is closed now (but in the case of those accounts that only allow access via closure, that becomes moot if you need some of the money.) I recently closed one having emptied it in favour of a higher paying account.
b) How much you have maturing at the original date vs the new date - and whether you have the capacity for this without having to resort to leaving a significant sum at EA rates
c) Pushing interest into the next tax year or not, personal circumstances depending. For some, one will have an advantage over the other.

A lot depends on a) if you need the money right now, and b) if you can spread the money around other high-interest accounts. If you've already opened every regular saver over 5.5% and have funded them with the maximum amount, then there may not be much benefit.

principality issue 5
I opened this new account yesterday having already got an issue 4 RS
I immediately sent a faster payment of £1 which showed in the account online quickly. I then topped up a further faster payment into the RS account £199
Today on checking £199 has been returned back to me
Anyone else had this happen or could suggest why ?

Did you used your saved payee etc? It’s usually only returned if you go over the allowed amount or details don’t match.
