I'm sure the value that this thread and Bridlington1 provide is such that you can tolerate an occasional off topic post about their life events, usually accompanying contextual information about delayed listings.
I'd also like to remind you of the no-chat thread which may better suit your requirements 🙂

Or you could just let them know you are unsatisfied with their handling of the existing complaint, with a view to eliciting a final response so you can escalate.
The main issue here, as I see it, is not that a payment was randomly selected for closer scrutiny, which can happen at any time, it is the fact that a specific payee was repeatedly singled out after you had already satisfied them it was genuine (and have your own proof that the funds successfully arrived). The effect of which is that they are failing to observe proper standards of market conduct by interfering with your consumer relationship with one of their competitiors. Whether that is deliberate or inadvertent.

They state they do not operate any call centres outside of mainland UK. In previous years I've been advised of the opposite. However, I wonder if it is some clever attempt to side step the outsourcing question. You said you thought it was outsourced, they said they don't operate any call centre outside of mainland UK, however if it was outsourced, do they really operate it? Perhaps a conversation for another thread if members want to dig into this point further, especially in light of recent comments, but thought it was worth briefly noting.

Odd. I don't use Virgin much and have never noticed any delays. I opened a new RS on Sept 1, and as CoP didn't work, made my first deposit via my Virgin current account. All happened on Sept 1, I didn't notice any pending amounts, and didn't get any warnings. My Virgin sort code starts with 82, is yours different?

That's strange. I've had my VM current account since 1971 (it was Yorkshire bank then, same sort code & account number); I frequently move thousands into the CA and immediately (the time taken to log out of the sending bank and log into VM) out again, and I've never noticed a pending status, and certainly never was threatened with overdraft charges. Sometimes the transaction isn't listed but the balance is correctly updated, and onward movement is still possible.

I've never had any issues and I tend to put funds in the current account immediately before I transfer to the RS.
I do with most and so far not had any problems.
I know Santander can be weird after 'trading hours' but none of the others.

I have both, 82 and 05. There's no difference in ways they operate. I always make my first deposits via current account. Can't remember if the money show "pending", but internal transfers were always immediate.

Yes mine is the same as yours, M Plus Current account with 82.
I thought exactly the same as @MASONIC said, why was I allowed to transfer the money out if I didn’t have the fund cleared already? The transfer out transaction was also immediate and arrived in the other bank at the same time without any issues.
The pending status lasted for 3 days, it was also during weekend so maybe that had something to do with it, although still made no sense to me.Don’t want to go off topic, but if you’re transferring money out of your VM current account, whether it’s external or internal, check and make sure you don’t have pending funds in your account first.

When this happened to me I seriously thought it was just me until I read others’ posts about their pending transactions last couple of days.
Glad you don’t have this problem, but I sure am not going to risk it again…
