Monmouthshire App Exclusive RS
When I opened my App Exclusive RS last year I ended up with 4 of these accounts due to the glitches. I funded the first account and I waited to see if the additional accounts would automatically close as per the t&c. But after two months the remaining accounts were still sitting there open and so I proceeded to fully fund the remaining 3 as well.
My first account has matured and paid out with interest. I expect the remaining three to mature 12 months after the first deposit (it has now been more than a year since they were opened).
I've done quite well out of the glitch and I would not hesitate to fully fund the account if I were you @Nick_C.

HBS RS8% can confirm renewing to “move forward” the maturity date also works instantaneously by this method too.

Monmouthshire - Another Question
And maybe a silly one! My RS matures on 13/9. They have just emailed me……take it they mean I can open a new one on or after 13/9?
“Want to keep saving regularly?
If you’d like to keep saving each month, you can open a new Regular Saver through the App. You can also apply by visiting your local Branch or Agency.”

Yes that's correct

Halifax
Did you renew a recently opened account, i.e. the 8% one?
I'm keen to move my maturity date to August to spread things out a bit, but don't want to risk losing such a good rate if I'm prevented from opening a new one. I'm using my Halifax login details.

Thanks all for confirming that I am not the only one not receiving communications from Principality BS.
Pretty sure that they are contravening FCA regs by failing to notify customers that their fixed rate product is expiring. Hopefully someone from there will read this and fix it - it's not worth a complaint imho.

EXISTING HALIFAX 8% account
I have renewed and reapplied for mine today, to eke out a few more weeks of 8%. Simple, fast, smooth. It's like the Halifax demise was just a bad dream, everything still works like it always did 😎 NB. Don't forget to cancel any SO you may have for the old RS.
I won't be doing any renewing with my BoS one as it still requires me to ask CS to close my existing account, and I cba doing this again, but it certainly seems possible. Similar with Lloyds but like many others I still have 2 Lloyds regular savers, maturing in the next few months, and it would not be smart to trade them at this stage for 1 account with lower maximum monthly deposit.
