Ecology COP
Yes same issue from Halifax too, so definitely a Lloyds/HBOS issue...
Application was easy enough, although I thought asking salary and job title was a bit intrusive, rarely ever get asked that for opening savings accounts. I'm sure even some of my current accounts don't know that info.
The intended deposit amount also wasn't clear if this was supposed to be a monthly or yearly figure? Most places do seem to ask that question now, so it must be part of some checks they have to do, or are they just trying to estimate their income?

Thank you. I didn't pay yesterday thinking I'd wait for COP, hmmph. Glad though to hear it seems to be a Lloyd's group problem.
Thank you for that. I changed my nominated account to Zopa and it came up with "Declined". I'll call them on Monday.

Halifax/Lloyds Question
I have Halifax Credit cards, Reg Saver and some Instant Access accounts…..no current account. Do not have any Lloyds or BOS accounts.
Still using the Halifax app and haven’t received email invitation to migrate to Lloyds app yet. If I try it now will it work and once I do eventually move, will I be able to open a Lloyds RS too?

You can set up a Lloyds access without any invitation. As long as you use the same details, the mobile number is usually the governing factor, it will see all of your LBG accounts. It happily accepts the same log in details as long as the user name is not already taken. You can then open the 8% RS. I have posted on the current account thread that MrsM has lost her Hfx access a week after setting up Lloyds access and opening the RS.

Thank you for info re Halifax closing within a week of opening Lloyds, I missed that. Expect mine to go the same way next week then.

Thanks, that’s really useful info. Everything on the Halifax site says to wait for the invitation but I’m guessing they want to control/phase it.

Thanks!
Manchester update.
Having received a reference number but no account number yesterday after applying after hours, I received an email an hour or so ago to say I had a secure message. On signing on I could see the new RS account and went ahead and sent a test transfer. Not long after, I received a text to say that the deposit had arrived.
Newcastle.
Boosted by that success, I applied for the Newcastle RS2 and it appeared right away.

Manchester BS user ID arrived. So, starting from scratch yesterday afternoon, I opened RS issue 1, got user ID this morning, and then opened issue 2.

Well, I do not know your experience and I was not getting around with anything as what I share here is my personal experience. I managed to close and reopen a new one in that way.
Regarding Reopening of BoS monthly saver, before the anniversary TBH I have not checked the T&C carefully, so you might be right. Someone else might want to check it and let us know. I know for sure that Halifax Regular does not allow that, but I am not sure about BoS monthly saver. For Halifax RS If you close it earlieryou might need to wait until the anniversary date to reopen a new one. But In the past people have also managed it using diversion to easy saver.
Also, it is not uncommon what is stated in the T&C is not necessary what is enforced. But In the past I have managed to close a few BoS, Halifax Monthly saver in the past. I am not quite sure but it might be with Lloyds and Clloyds as well.

Wasn’t going to bother but as Issue 1 was the only one that could be applied for directly online and not knowing what may be restricted to existing customers in the future, I’ve opened one. Not in a rush to open Issue 2 (it’s only just been launched so the risk of waiting for a convenient date feels minimal and I don’t expect to fully fund anything below 6% in most months.)
28 days given to fund so will do so on Monday, but I’m guessing it’s 2 years from today regardless of when funded?
Put NatWest as my nominated (have a paper statement) as Newcastle are the only building society I’ve ever had online ID check fail from and they are the same company. Pleasantly surprised that it went straight through. Hope I can nominate another account if I open Issue 2, given NatWest don’t do two payees to the same account number/sort code.
