Given that members resolutions need to be signed by 500 members, and the society won't/can't release members names and addresses, members resolutions are nigh on impossible anyway.

    The illusion of democracy.

Lloyds Monthly Saver 5.25% and Club Monthly Saver 6.25% Renewal, and 8% Monthly Saver Opening

Just did this, but I think the renewal and log off, on and account refresh process can be a bit flaky.

After renewing the non-club Monthly Saver, log off and on, the Easy Saver and interest was there. All good. Then renewed the Club Monthly Saver, logged off and on. In account list Club Monthly Saver is still showing but with interest added and shows interest rate of 0.75%, the Easy Saver rate. Went to open new accounts and the Club Monthly Saver 8% is showing as available. No non-club Monthly Saver offered. So opened Club Monthly Saver 8%. Funded from previous Club Monthly Saver. In screen shots it looks like I have 2 Club Monthly Savers but I think the Lloyds website process is a bit fragmented and a reasonably fast log off and on again may not give the Lloyds website sufficient time to do what it needs to do.

Main thing is I was able to open the Lloyds 8%. Would have preferred to have the non-club version but it seems more elusive. I considered calling to open a non-club version but thought it potentially more problematic because of the only 1 account in 12 months rule. So happy now with a trio of LBG 8%s

On deciding whether to keep the old Lloyds MS or not. I figured as my easy access funds are more limited now and I am prioritising funding the higher rates, it was better to go for 8% as the extra money that may have gone into the old MS would be going into some other 5.5%+ RS. £120+ profit on a £3000 to £3250 final RS falls into my must have category.

Tipton & Coseley 125 Anniversary Regular Saver

Just to confirm for anyone interested, I (as an existing T&C member outside the original postcode area for this product) sent a signed and scanned application form to 'info@thetipton.co.uk' yesterday afternoon.

Earlier today I logged into my app and could see the 125 Ann. RS there along with the 8 digit account number (i.e. within less than 24 hours).

I then made a bank transfer and got COP to match - though I had to force it to suggest a correction to my name as my initial attempts weren't matching (it seems T&C used 'Mr' and my first initial only as my first name). Payment made with no issues. Not yet shown in the app but I think T&C payments generally show the next working day.

TLDR: Anyone eligible for the T&C 125 Anniversary Regular Saver can email an application form; no need for stamps or a tram ride to a branch.

Has the Nationwide AGM happened? Did the "member's rep" (the one opposed by the existing board) get elected?

My OH is trying to open a Furness Summer 2027 regular saver online via the app. He gets to page 7 which require him to put the initial deposit and where it has come from. Then he has to confirm that he has read and agree with the following 6 sheets and he has ticked them all.

At this point he clicks on confirm and it comes up with "oops something went wrong incorrect terms and conditions" and he cant progress.

Scrapped the application and started again several times - even I've tried but made no progress beyond this page

Tried ringing the helpline number and the line would not connect. The branches close at 3 on a Friday

    Any suggestions please?

Can't confirm how it's done with Furness but usually the online application process "hands off" the face/id scanning bit to your phone.

Finally managed it - tried the app, the tablet, 2 browsers, 8 OTP, a phone call, started again over and over and finally OH got his application accepted - just waiting now for the welcome email with his username and account number which seem to be slow to arrive …
