I take it from this and other comments that LBG has form for… well, for something - but what is that something? Have they closed customers' accounts and de-banked them for things like opening more accounts than the T&Cs allow for? (i.e. things that aren't dodgy money-laundering type stuff)

They debanked Bridlington1 who hadn't broken any rules, just used them for a few switches, replaced the accounts and also linked some accounts to YouGov.
If you've done anything dodgy, you get a CIFAS marker. Banks can make a commercial decision to debank which is why it's a good idea not to take liberties.

certainly a few instances of LBG closing accounts:

Regarding LBG (its me who has somehow got 2 of those savers with B of S) should I inform them?
I'm not funding the one, I probably wouldn't have anyway because it was LBG but wanted to get the general opinion on here which confirmed it.

I wouldn't be worried about that, glitches happen sometimes. I suspect that if they were going to take issue in that situation, it would be with anyone who got 2 and funded 2.

I would just wait, leaving it unfunded and see what happens. If it’s still there in a few weeks, probably means they are blissfully unaware. I think they’ve got plenty going on keeping them unusually busy.
ETA: Other organisations have usually closed excess regular savers, and returned the funds with interest. What LBG would do, I don’t know.

Thankyou, will do.

Thanks, will leave well alone.

Wonder if they will have an issue with those who've managed to open a BoS Monthly Saver without having a BoS current account?

I would propose that any excess accounts that exist, came about due to the ineffectness of LBGs application process, and their lack of forethought in the design and implementation of said system. They would be hard pressed to call foul on anyone who ended up with more accounts than intended, when it's their own lack of safeguarding that allowed these accounts to be opened.
