That almost looks like they're debanking you albeit in slow motion. Do you currently have any account with any provider from L:BG?

Lloyds
So it seems that you can open their RS without having any accounts with them..
Have to wait for them to post out a code for internet banking. Have the account details to fund already. Is there any way of seeing the balance after funding, or do I have to wait for the internet banking code in the post?
HalifaxCan't open one it seems as a new customer :( Anybody found a way around this yet?
Will I be able to open one once I have my Lloyds online banking details?

Bank of Scotland
I take it you need to open a current account with them for their RS?

no, I don’t have one nor did I apply for one but opened and funded a RS yesterday.
I did have online access though from back in the day so just logged in and opened the new account

That's what it says in the terms and conditions, however if you already have a Halifax login it is possible to create a BoS login and open the account as an existing customer without holding a current account with them.

1 x Club Lloyds, 2 x Lloyds Classic Current Accounts (Club Lloyds with 100 GBP interest free overdraft)
3 x Halifax Rewards Current Account (2 x 100 GBP interest free overdraft)
1 x MBNA Credit Card with 8k limit at zero balance (closure requested this morning after receipt of texts)

That makes it ever more strange. The texts you received are akin to what they send when LBG decide to de-bank someone however that's not what is happening. Clearly they're happy with having you as a customer as you've got a few accounts with them but for some reason, they're not happy with you having some of their other accounts.
Weird.

Haven’t seen this particular scenario mentioned yet so thought I’d share my experience with a word of caution for others. This morning I held a Halifax RS but only a Lloyds credit card which I’ve always managed via the Halifax profile.
Renewed Halifax through the usual process no issue but Lloyds presented a few problems. I had my separate Lloyds details to hand but couldn’t seem to get logged in and faced repeated errors when trying to reset the password preventing any further progress on the RS application. Couldn’t re-register for Lloyds as it recognised I was already registered with them. Eventually as a final effort I downloaded the Lloyds app which insisted I link it up with my Halifax profile - this worked and got me access to the Lloyds application (only the CL RS offered), which then went through just fine despite having no Lloyds current account.
Importantly, this process “completed” the migration of my Halifax profile to Lloyds, which has entirely revoked my access to the Halifax app and online banking. Had I of done this step before renewing the Halifax RS, I expect I wouldn’t have been able to open the account as I now cannot log in to Halifax.
My previous Halifax details are now used for Lloyds and I assume my old Lloyds profile must’ve been merged into this one, hence the trouble accessing via the Lloyds details. All a bit of a faff but got there in the end, albeit now managed through Lloyds instead of Halifax (which will eventually be forced upon everyone anyway). Might give BOS a go later on.Moo…7 -
fingers crossed it works for you as well 🤞🤞🤞

Guess the process is already there and they are testing it. Not sure if it has any potential pitfalls doing it pre-invitation?
