Have Club Lloyds 6.25% RS and will stick with it. Opened Halifax 8% this morning no problem. And just opened and funded BoS 8% RS through BoS website on laptop even though I have no current account. All seems OK

Opening a current account will involve a hard credit search but you shouldn’t need one for Halifax. I only have a credit card with them and opened it without issue. This discussion is relevant to you -

I only have a credit card with Lloyds. I access it via my BoS app.

Am I likely to be able to open a Lloyds RS?

(I have a BoS RS which I closed this morning and thus far not been able to open a new BoS RS.)

No requirement to hold any accounts with Halifax in order to open their Regular Saver:

No, Lloyds require you to hold a current account when you apply for a regular saver account.

Yes, but if you want to open a Halifax 8% RS TODAY you need to have the Halifax app already. They are restricting access to Halifax to existing customers with the app. (Edit: and this might have changed since early this morning)

For the Bank of Scotland Monthly Saver (their name for a Regular Saver), you need to hold a current account with them - and that would involve a credit check (it's possible it might not if you already hold a current account with Lloyds or Halifax, but that's nothing more than a semi-educated guess).

if you already have a current account with Lloyds, that should be sufficient to open a BoS RS.
