I'm wondering if Monmouthshire haven't updated their info because it seems you can do things via app these days & when I rang them up a couple of years ago they could pay me straight into my bank account via phone whereas previously they would only offer me a cheque in the post despite always having my funding details

This potentially RS account would it be open to everyone or longer term members only, if you know?

I also currently don't have any accounts with them. I've tried in the past, but their online application just doesn't play ball.

I've just opened my Santander current account and RS, took no time at all. Between this and another RS this will fund our big our holiday in a couple of years time

    Saffron Member's Month Loyalty Saver

As far as I remember you need to be a member for 12 months.

If your online application doesn't work you can call them, they are very helpful.

Saffron have done various things in the past but it used to be minimum of 12 months membership to be eligible for a members month regular saver. I've held their £10 easy access account for several years & use it as my account to keep membership, whenever I close a saffron account or one ends I always give instructions for funds to go to that (because I don't want to end up with maturity accounts etc) then withdraw to my nominated account.

You are allowed to have 1 standard regular saver only with Saffron at a time PLUS the Members Month one.

Things can change, it's hard to say, just have to wait until September to know

I'm not sure why you've had issues opening accounts with Saffron, I've had issues getting the Members Month before however they've been able to do it on the phone with me in the past, so you might want to try calling them?, might just be the website being overloaded or something.

    Beverley

For a RS product that takes up so much brain power to dissect and understand, and still something could probably go wrong which you won’t find out until a year later, personally I don’t think it’s worth having, not at 5.5% (well assuming you understand the rules correctly).

I still have issue 1 and will keep feeding £10/month but get rid of it in Jan 2027.

Agreed. Though if anyone keeping the account(s) does withdraw in January I would be interested to learn the outcome in December 2027. Unless and until the earlier of then or Beverley publishing a worked example explicitly stating January 2027 and December 2027/December 2028, this discussion will continue in circles - and given that over 80% of the rate is at stake, it would be prudent to assume the less favourable scenario applies. What another person’s welcome letter/communication from Beverley says would be of no effect in your complaint (except possibly if you can put in a physical copy of the full thing, since different people should not receive differing information from them about the same account.)
