I’m just saying this once, and just my opinion, but sometimes conversations in this thread seem to go on forever and detract from its main purpose. In these situations, surely a separate thread is the way to go…..Beverley is yet another example. I know it’s relevant, and I know it’s affecting quite a few people, but I for one are not interested!

…especially as the group of people who are affected are fixed to those who actually secured the product during the day or so it was available. The discussion has no real interest or relevance to anyone else so why clutter the general thread to the detriment of discussion of any other products?

Just scroll past posts you're not interested in. Takes a nanosecond (if you are a regular reader of this thread) to identify posts which have no relevance to your situation. I've had to endure pages and pages of posts about Saffron BS which I am not in the least interested in. Did I complain? No. We all have examples like that of institutions/accounts etc etc which we have no interest in. We just have to thole it, Not a great hardship.

Edited to add: I am interested in the Beverley discussion as I am lucky enough to hold both Issues 1 and 2 of their RS.

is the heat making folks crabby? Lovely and cool up here in Caledonia today. Long may it last (but I doubt it).

For this very reason, I previously suggested that regular savers should have their own sub-forum, like ISAs do. Then account-specific threads can be easy to find. I reckon there would be more activity than on the ISA board too.

This thread feels a bit congested, but that's just my opinion, others may disagree.

I try to put the name of the provider in bold at the top of each post so that it's easier for people to ignore and scroll past if it's an account they're not interested in.

Fair enough, but can we please make an effort to stick the institution's name at the top of eack post?

Makes that scrolling past 'not interested' stuff much easier, especially when the subject of the post may well be contained in a quote which has been "enhanced" by the new system to be unreadable.

SEPARATE THREADS FOR EACH RS?

It definitely helps us all if every post, question or response has a heading/title to identify what it is about.

Of course, I accept that it should only be about RSs.

Personally, I don't think that each RS should have its own thread. I accept the way this thread is, even if many of the posts are not of interest or directly relevant to me. I am not forced to read them all.

I would not like a separate thread for each RS. For me, that would waste far more time clicking from one thread to another, because there are so many different RSs.

For me, the interest in this multiple RS thread is that it is set up to identify and discuss multiple RSs, many of which I don't have, and a few I might consider. But the useful factor about this multiple RS thread for me is that the posts and the data of the first pages also highlight the limits, benefits, quirks, inconsistencies and lack of clarity in some/many RSs. This is potentially useful information either immediately or for future RS issues. It also points us all to some RSs almost immediately after they are issued, so it gives us the opportunity to read the relevant T&Cs and consider applying immediately if we are able, eligible, ready and interested. The fact that I am not always able, eligible, ready or interested is down to me, not the fault of this thread.

Apart from putting a heading so we know what/who your post is about, I vote for leave the thread as it is.

We also have a no chat thread which people can use for information only.

I agree. Another reason for avoiding separate threads is inevitably some people won't notice the separate thread and post about the account on this main thread - leading to duplication, confusion, and the also inevitable squabbles about what should be posted where.

I vote for keeping it simple. Bridlington1 has gone to a lot of effort to set up and maintain a sensible system where the bare facts can be found in one thread, whilst discussion about almost everything else RS related can be had here.

Folk who have difficulty scrolling past information which doesn't interest them do have other options.
