The min opening balance for Dudley is £50. Once they've confirmed that your opening deposit got to the right place and was just the wrong amount, (assuming that's the case) you'll still be able to get your full payment in tomorrow."

Copied from old thread to respond.

I sent £250 so not sure why it bounced. I've sent it over again, fingers crossed it stays there today, if not I'll call them later. It's definitely saying Dudley Building Society when I put the bank details in, it would appear not to have recognised the reference number.

Have you used the correct account number for the type of account (post/branch or online?) They have separate ones so the valid reference would not be recognised against the account number for the other channel.

Two Mansfield passports received this morning as expected as I'd noted cheques were cashed yesterday, posted Monday evening (with a first class stamp).

Thank you to Bridlington, you absolute superstar getting this new thread up and running must have taken you ages.🥇🤩

  • I've had First Direct Regular Savers for a few years and the long-winded maturation process has caused slippage for progressively later dates for each issue. My newest one opened today (30th), so I wanted to ask when the payment would be taken next month?

Look on your account: a new standing order should have been setup and that’ll have a date. I’m guessing it’ll be 02/03?

  • Ah, thanks! I only have the account open for the RS so don't really know my way around. It was funded today but it's saying 1st March (Sunday) for the next so probably will be 2nd due to HSBC/FD's aversion to weekend payments. I hope I can speak nicely to CS and get a later payment in March in too.

I used the details I was given over the phone yesterday afternoon.

I tried the payment again this morning, and as yet nothing has come back, so I'm hoping it's stuck this time. I'm hoping it was just a glitch with the actual account being opened yesterday which hadn't fully populated across their system, but has overnight.

No sign of passbook for Dudley or Mansfield yet, so was worth me making a couple of phone calls.
