MonBS RS issue 8 I too have an account that matures at the end of this month. For various reasons I was not able to fully fund it earlier in the year. The £500 sent on 1st July is still there, so as expected any problems are with either a 13th payment or exceeding £6000.

I was one that had an account opened by post and online. For a long time I ignored the second one, and then started to fund it. No point trying to open a new account when the first matures. 6% on £500 per month is still excellent.

For those with the Mkt Harborough BS Limited Edition RS at 6% (NLA):

Thought I'd give my experience in case others wish to access the funds early, the account converts into an EA account if more than one payment is missed.

I wanted access to the funds so missed the deposits for May and June, I sent them a secure message in mid-June asking them to close the account on 1st July once it converts to an EA account and they said to wait till it converts and send another message then.

I sent a message around 4am on 1st July (day it was due to convert into an EA account) and they actioned the closure despite it having not converted by the time I'd sent the message. Funds were in my nominated account when I checked at 5pm on 1st July

Same, I swapped from funding from NatWest/RBS because their fraud department can't tell the difference between a UK Building Society that has been around for 120 years and a scammer, the systems they use are clearly not fit for purpose

Thanks - I was just about to ask that very question, is it straightforward to change your nominated account with Bucks. I haven't funded mine yet, but after reading everyone's Natwest horror stories I'd quite like to change my nominated account from Natwest. Sounds like it's fairly hassle-free to change it.

Buckinghamshire BS / NatWest/RBS/Ulster Fraud Check Issues

It might be worth making a formal complaint to NatWest/RBS/Ulster as this seems to be a specific issue their system has with Buckinghamshire BS over what should be a routine opening deposit for a building society account. Bit of a cheek for them to refuse the payment outright - especially if it passed COP checks - and at the end of the day if you as the customer authorise the payment then it should be a case of 'on your head be it' (which is basically what the chap on the fraud team said to me!).) I was almost tempted to mention on my call to the fraud team that I was aware others had similar issues but stopped myself as I felt that was the sort of red flag comment that might make them reject me!

For others in similar situations you might be able to cut the time on the phone by going via their Premier Services line - 0333 202 3330. You'll still get put through to the same fraud team but I was connected to India straight away on Tuesday so might allow you to jump the queue.

I made the second deposit yesterday from NatWest without any issues and I'd previously paid into an easy access saver without issues. So maybe it's something specific about how Buckingham BS are setting up the COP checks on these regular savers?

I funded my Bucks BS Regular Saver on 22nd June (initial payment of £250 by FP bank transfer) and on 1st July (£250 by standing order) both from my Santander Edge current account without any problems. I can't understand why NatWest/RBS don't seem to recognise BBS as a reputable UK savings institution. It is registered with FCA and has full FSCS protection.

No problems encountered funding Buckinghamshire RS from Bank of Scotland.

However, I still can't get a COP match for Dudley - account open 25th, first deposit made on the 30th, second on the 1st, so no block on making the payments, but no COP match…?
