Just to be clear to others, they allow 13 or more payments as long as they are confined to 12 months.

Monmouthshire BS: Yes, sorry, should've maybe been clearer and say that by saying "13th payment" I meant a payment made in the 13th calendar month after account opening (1st one being the calendar month in which the account was opened) that would take the account above the maximum balance advised in the T&Cs.

I've checked the meaning of minima and that bit still doesn't make much sense (even discounting the furniture shop in Birmingham)😀

Funnily enough I have done this. Ulster decided not to uphold my complaint saying they were following their own policies to prevent fraud etc.
I also complained that their chatbot didn't have enough room to put everything I wanted to say in the original complaint due to a character limit, they upheld this part of the complaint and have offered me £50 as an apology.
Thus to summarise they didn't uphold the complaint, but have upheld my complaint about their complaint's process. I've decided to let them off on this occasion so have taken the £50 so shall leave it at that, but of course if I have any more issues I shall not hesitate to complain and make it a wordy one.

Bucks
I paid the RS with a payee ref. BUCKS REG XYZ from NatWest. I then paid OH's account with a payee ref. BUCKINGHAMSHIR WXY from the same NatWest account. It was the BUCKS REG XYZ that was blocked whereas the BUCKINGHAMSHIR one passed through OK.
Not conclusive proof, but does look like NatWest don't like the word BUCKS.

What's with all that BUCKS verbiage? The Payee is your First and Last Name, the reference is your 10 digit account number. As per BucksBS website:
How can I pay money into my account?
You can pay into your account with cash in person at our branch, by cheque or by bank transfer up to the maximum balance of the account. Please do not send cash by post as it could be lost.
Cheques must be payable to the name of the account holder. If you wish to make a bank transfer, quote the following details:Sort Code: (Removed by Forum Team)

Reference: Quote the 10 digit account number in your passbook. Please do not include any dashes or spaces2 -
Buckinghamshire BS / NatWest/RBS/Ulster Fraud Check Issues — complaintsSimilar to my outcome, but only I reveived £30. (RBS seems a bit stingier than Ulster!)

Some payees allow a nickname as well as a reference number, so this is what is being picked up. That reminds me of a perplexing situation where I wasn't offered one by the Co-op when setting up a payment this week, yet I have existing ones with them like this
