I had a similar one yesterday, bit odd.

Dudley Loyalty Regular Saver 3 (not sure why the hyperlink says 2)
Emailed my application form this morning (as an existing customer).
Logged on tonight and could see the new account in my online banking, so tried a payment into it (which didn't pass CoP but that's normal for these types of BS "your account number is the reference" accounts). Note shown up yet but hopefully tomorrow!
Edit: and it has!

Santander Regular Saver
Can anyone tell me how long this takes to open please? Took over a week to close the one I had, applied for new one yesterday and not showing as yet.0 -
When I opened a new one a couple of days ago it was virtually instant, certainly within the hour.

Thank you, that's what I thought. If it's not there in the next few hours I will try again. Don't seem to be having luck with closing and opening Santander accounts over the past couple of weeks.

Mine was opened within 2 hours. My OH took longer, about 5 hours.

I always request human agent to close my account and not Sandi AI. My RS and Edge saver that matured this month was closed next day and was able to open new ones. Edge saver instantly appeared but RS took few hours

my experience with First Direct RS & Co-op RS that matured recently
FD RS - matured on 25th June and RS disappeared by night > on 26th June opened new one and by night got matured sum with Interest to my saver account (I already have one created for this purpose) and also left £300 to my current a/c > 27th June new RS was opened with £300 in it. Very surprising that it was this quick given 27th June was Sat
Co-op RS - matured on 30th June > got converted to smart saver on 1st July and had the maturity sum with Interest > applied for new RS on 1st July itself > 2nd July early morning got text that new RS is open > already funded £250 as there was a COP match. Again very surprised given they take 4-5 working days and known for their tardiness
